I know it's irritating when someone lists something for a lot less than you've put it on for, but they can set whatever price they like...and you don't really know what condition their book/cd/dvd is in.

Just grin and bear it - there's nothing hard and fast about the way things sell on Amazon.

I was buying something off Amazon this morning. I was looking at two sellers, and went in to their feedback. One of them had a few 4 out of 5 (I know we all get bugged by these), however this seller had blatantly put a response to them saying "Why not 5 out of 5 then?"

He had also sold plenty at 5/5 but I have to say those responses did not make him/her look good in my eyes (plus he had a rude response to a couple of negs) and I bought off the other seller who was a penny cheaper anyway!!!

Thanks for this thread. I've listed a load of stuff (mostly penny books just now) and sold my most expensive one the day I listed. A whole 99p!

I haven't sold a book in 10 days.... Okay I only have 39 listed, but this is silly...
I've been doing this a month, and I've sold around 20, but NONE IN THE LAST 10 DAYS :'(

Does anyone know of a dedicated Amazon feedback thingy? I want to contact them about something but usually when I try to email them I get a message back saying I used the wrong address :D

Here's my gripe: when you list an item, it tells you the absolute lowest marketplace price, so naturally, you want to list at that price or lower. What it DOESN'T tell you is that that £1.50 book is actually a copy in poor condition, and that the books in the same very good condition as the one you are listing are actually listed at more like £3.

So you've listed your book cheaply because Amazon told you that was the lowest price. It sells. YOU get less money, and Amazon get less fees.

Is it just me who finds this stupid?

You could just search for the book and look at what's listed then click the "Sell Yours Here" link. That's what I've been doing and doesn't take any time at all.
