I was the 3rd person to read this thread when posted and therefore quite an early order, had hoped to get it but didn't! (I always seem to miss everything lol)
In reply to my complaining email this morning I received 2 emails! One offering me £5 the second offering me £3is that £8 in total or is the 2nd email eclipsing the first? Either way looks like I'd still have to pay postage on anything ordered - may phone tomorrow to complain!

I am delighted with a £5 voucher as compensation. Never expected to get it as obvious mis-price. Those who got one were very lucky. Most companies would have just cancelled order with apology.
Let's face it Amazon didn't have to offer compensation.Money SPENDING Expert0 -
I'm pretty happy with this too. I would have been amazed to have received it, but to get a £5 off as an apology, when most etailers would have not even have given an explanation is good afaik.0

Bluenose, none of us would have minded had they e-mailed us to inform us of the cancellation, the whole point of this is the fact that not only did they cancel the order, but they wiped all existance from our account screens and never bothered to email us.
Can anyone tell me where the £5 code is on the e-mail? Can't find it.0 -

That was my main complaint - If they'd have sent and email explaining that they were unable to fulfill orders and that the order would shortly be removed from my account, then fair enough.
But the went about this the wrong way. If I hadn't checked my account today and found the order missing, I would have been non the wiser.
I still haven't had an email :mad:0 -
Can we still get through to them on the phone? Trying the click to call and says unavailable.
I got a poxy e-mail replying to my concerns as follows (note that I am a Miss)
Dear Mr Naomi Hill
Thank you for writing back to Amazon.co.uk.
We're sorry that you feel aggrieved with our decision to cancel your
order for the "Cinderella / Bambi / Mary Poppins / Alice In
Wonderland / Dumbo".
We always appreciate customer input on how we can improve our service
to our customers.
Further, I have read all of your communications with us and you are
absolutely right: there are no excuses for what occurred with your
order.
I can imagine how frustrated you must be with us at this point,
and after reading your e-mails, I appreciate the admirable restraint
you exercised in your message. My sincere apologies for the time you
have spent dealing with this issue.
I don't blame you for being upset, and I do apologize profusely for
all of the mistakes and delays which contributed to this very
unfortunate series of encounters.
I will be sure to pass your message on to the appropriate department
in our company for consideration. Customer feedback such as yours
helps us to continue improving the selection and service we
provide. We appreciate the time you've taken to write to us.
We do understand that a Gift Certificate cannot really make amends
for the the inconvenience caused. Please accept it as a goodwill
gesture and apology for adding stress to what should have been a
happy occasion.
In addition to our large selection, one of the benefits we'd like to
offer our customers is convenience, and we have not met that standard
in this case. Please accept our sincere apologies.
Please note that the availability and dispatch times listed on our
website are estimates only, and not guarantees. While we do our best
to adhere to these estimates, our inventory is constantly changing
based on information we receive directly from our suppliers, and
occasionally, unexpected fluctuations in supply can add time to your
order.
I do understand that such changes can be frustrating for you. Please
accept my most sincere apologies for this inconvenience.
In addition to a wide selection of items, one of our aims at
Amazon.co.uk is to provide a convenient and efficient service; in this
case, we have not met that standard.
I am very sorry that we were not able to fulfill your expectations for
this level of service. I hope that you will allow us another
opportunity to prove the quality of our service to you in the future.
I'm glad that you took the time to let us know your feelings and gave
us a chance to respond. We do value comments from our customers,
especially those as loyal and steadfast as you.
Thank you for your understanding. We hope you will continue to enjoy
shopping at Amazon.co.uk.
Warmest regards

continued custom. Please do not hesitate to contact us if the need
arises and once again, thank you for shopping at Amazon.co.uk.

well I have had an email from amazon... still not the one most other people have had about the order, but a response to the email i sent them earlier today.
Not sure if this is just a standard email... but this is what it said:
"Dear Customer Thank you for contacting Customer Services at Amazon.co.uk by e-mail. I will need to investigate with this issue further. We will contact you again within 2 business days with an update. Thank you for your patience and for bringing this matter to our attention.
Warmest regards

don't think i will hear anything till next week now... will see what happens!!
I am not too fussed now what i get or if i get anything.. my point i made in my email to them was the ridiculous way in which they have handled this situation , especially by how they have treated so many different customers in such different ways!
I have still had no email from them informing me of the cancellation of my order, and i would not have known until i had wondered when my order was coming, once the delivery date had came and went!
That to me, is VERY bad treatment of a good customer!
Time will tell i spose... good luck to everyone else who still have unresolved issues with them!April 2014: A CAR!!!!!! :j 60th Anniversary Edition of Playboy mag signed by Hugh Hefner/Family pass to Twinlakes Family Theme Park/Rio 2 Goodies/£15 Promod Voucher/Nivea Sensitive Prize pack/John Frieda Cosmetic bag and bits/Tickets to New Kids On The Block + Meet and Greet0 -
