    Guys,

Just FYI but other sites are calling this one disgusting for getting compo for this type of thing and encouraging others to do the same. What the common concenus here? Should we be doing this or no?

They took out orders, left us sitting patiently waiting for 2 weeks and then cancel them without prior notification. I think we are entitled to something. Its very poor customer service!

Just had a call back from a supervisor. They've been instructed to not give out compensation above email sent (I take it one compensation per email address). Also, she was surprised that some items had been delivered... Managed to get her to fulfill previous promise from a csa to adjust my a/c by £10. All in all very pleased with the way this has been resolved, although disappointed that I did not get the item. Thanks OP & Amazon!

Up to the individual really. I mean waiting 2 weeks to then see an order cancelled is quite poor customer service. Therefore if some people complained, told others who did the same thing, is that really a bad thing..?

I'll be sleeping better tonight with my freebie £15.

It's catching stuff like this on a daily basis which makes me return to MSE. As Martin says in his book its easier to save money [aka this post] than ask your boss for a pay rise.

Someone from the compensation dept phoned me back about 1hr ago. He went through the story about being unable to fulfill orders and they won't be getting any more stock. Then said that all as a gesture they were offering all customers with cancelled orders a £5 voucher which I should have recieved via email.

I told him, I hadn't recieved any such email and that I have had a work m8 who phone earlier this morning and he was offered £15, so 'all customers' weren't being offered the same £5.

He put me on hold a few mintues and then came back to say he'd adjusted my account by a further £10 (as a one off). I've checked online and it's available to use when checking out.

Still no sign of the initial £5 email voucher though. Is anyone else still waiting for this email
