Anyone know of a alterative number to the 0800 number as I am in France and its not possible to ring an 0800 number without cost.

If you go back through this thread you will see that loads of people have had different excuses.

Don't believe a word the rep says, you need it from the supervisor/manager

Was offered £20 at noon and accepted, nothing appeared on amazon or the email, called amazon again and have been told will be compensated £5. I complained and told him that I know for a fact that people have been given more compensation and he said I could leave my number and the manager will call back before 6 pm. Will let you know how it goes ...

Have to say thanks to forums like this and all the punters on it! I would not have bothered ringing up to start with and had not recieved an email so would have got nought! I rang up got offered £5 and knocked it back, now got £15 and told the some colleagues got £30 and £50 vouchers respectively. The guys investigating though I have to say hes being really dead on about the hole thing... so far

Holy god hes just came back and I got £50!

hiya! well i have just read this thread and I then checked my emails..... NO EMAIL FROM AMAZON! and order vanished too! I am about to email them (i am too much of a pushover on the phone!) armed with the knowledge that my friend received an email explaining about the item and then phoned up and received compensation, to which i am also expecting!!! lol see what they say!!! will give them the same old about being a loyal, regular customer (I have about 20 boxes of amazon stuff in my bedroom all ordered within the past month!) so I will let them know how disgusting i think their customer relations are too!!! might not order from them again now... well put me off!!!! lol

I emailed them back after being offered the £5 compensation stating that a friend had been offered £25 and asked how they could justify offering different values of compensation for the same thing, this was my reply...
