I have been reminiscing with regret alately I used to work with a girl at work years ago her husband was a tesco area manager she was extremely annoyed with him so she looked through his briefcase every night and after explaining R&R to every one gave out daily misprice info to everyone. I didn't do it at all as sainsburys was on my way home and I was not short of cash,I also didn't like confrontation(c/s aggro)what a dream scenario now, Karen if you are reading this I would love to hear from you please pm me
truth is stranger than fiction I don't think I would have the imagination to make this up.0 -

I've been reading about this for the last few days and it sounds too good to be true. Do CS really just give you your mmoney back and allow you to work out with the item??
If I try this out am I best picking a low value item first before going for gold with the mobile phones!
Also cash or card ? If using cash I can keep my details to myself.
Thanks
T
Obviously depends how confident you are but I would say go for the phone first if you see one, as someone else said, if you get a few things first they are more likely to spot you if you use the same store.
Also, you will feel like kicking yourself if you walk in to a store and see mobiles available but only walk out with 2 bars of chocolate or a filofax after an easy R&R from a nice CS person.
My first R&R was on about £40 worth of steak, since then I have had one of each console, loads of games & DVDs, a printer, 3 stereos, wireless modem & router and more meat than your average butchers!
Cash is King! If you do use a card be sure to give the right name as on the card but you can give any address!
DO NOT use a clubcard.
Get stuck in, go for the phones if they are available and dont be nervous, its risk free!Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -
marymilkmaid wrote:had refunds today on meat & ds game ( in 2 different stores).
Refused refund on champs & choc scan £20 box said £18. CS said they had same happen last week because box didnt state anything apart from £18 on the box he wouldnt refund.sel stated barcode etc. Left feeling a little dejected but other r&rs made up for it.
Only asked for name & address once. All cs were really nice ( to my face anyway)
You should have said that if they knew there was a discrepancy then it should have been rectified at the time to avoid any possible confusion, pointing out that diplaying misleading pricing information is a criminal offence.0 -
mikeywills wrote:If I go to the pharmacy or checkout and check a price first, and then go and try to make a claim, am I not in the wrong then. Having obviously checked a price, to be incorrect surely I have little arguement if I claim ignorance and someone says I saw you check it.
I am sure I am not the only one who is a little nervous before doing my first r&r, and it does not show you in a good light to take the p*** out of me just because you have more experience.
I understand your nervousness and I therefore wonder if going for a £850 TV is the best way to ease yourself in?. Anyway, you ahve a potential kill and you want to go for it- well here's what you do.....
Take the CD case to pharmacy/scanner or last resort take it to a checkout and ask them to check the price at the same time as you buy some cheap odds and sods, you say thank you very much and leave the store, if it was a misprice then leave it a couple of hours or so and then go back, you will then be off the radar and will look like a normal punter.
Then go and buy at least £20 worth of shooping that you would normally get and stick another one of the cases in your trolley and pay for your shopping, hand in the case at customer services and wait for the tv to arrive (that way they can't say it's not in stock) at that point query the price........and the rest is for you to give an oscar winning performance.
good luck and let us know how you got on0 -
Found an expired SEL on Samsung E900 £169.97 R&R NO PROBLEM, it was in a stand about 10 yards from CS.0

are the only mobiles getting R&R the ones with the yellow SELs? I went to my local Tesco this morning and there were no out of date SELs there just a couple with £20 off when you spend x amount
I think my local store must be a bit hot on prices (or there are a lot of other R&Rers here) cos there were no yellow SELs on the meat counter except 2 for £5 type ones or all the joints were stickered up correctly and no SELs on any books just the books stickered
<sigh> any tipsMum of 7 (aged 14y to 1y)
loving SW - 5st off and counting! :j0 -

As far as I am aware it is only SELS with the previous mobile promotion that people are getting R&R's?, the current promotion requires a purchase of £40 of no mobile products. To get an r&r on these require the Checkout Operator to not put through the discount (unlikely) The only thing I think that might be a possibility is that somebody finds a Tesco mobile that doesn't prompt the checkout Operator to put through a discount.
Who's going to be the 1st one to find that phone?.0 -
Hello
Newbie alert
I ventured out last Saturday and on my first haul got 2 Whole Organic Chickens total R&R £15.34 no trouble at all, but this was part of my main shop. I know it's a tiny amount compared to a lot on here but I was thrilled.
Question:
How many different items can you safely get away with R&R ing in each store in the same transaction before Customer Service catch on and could they refuse a R&R if they suspected you were doing it deliberately?
For example, If I'm lucky enough to find mispriced chocs, meat and a DVD all in the same shop should I buy them at the same time or would you make separate visits for each item. Wouldn’t it look suspicious to get a R&R on the chocs, next pull out the meat, oh and finally you've overcharged me on this DVD too. But if bought separately, that’s three visits to the Customer Service desk and they're going to be onto me surely.
