I think that's a reasonable assesment, I'd concur. If you took a print out of the internet page along with sopplayer's link to the "national price" page they may well match the price.0

mikeywills wrote:Just for me to get some kind of perspective on this, how often do others generally undertake the r&r policy, is it every week, month ?
How many times does it take for you to become a marked person!!!
So far everyday for the last 3 weeks after laying low for a couple of months. Try to spread it around but its difficult when you see blatant ones in your local. As for being marked I think they were taking bets today to see why I was heading for cs, when I showed my overcharged goods she commented to the other cs its an overprice. I'll probably go for it until the end of the week around all my locals and then give it a rest again until any nice misprices are around again. I'm stocked up on cheap games, free sweets, free xmas pressies and the freezers full.0 -
Have telephoned my local store, to confirm the price which is £849, but as you suggest I will not be trying to get it, as I could not guarantee the r&r and missus would go mad if I had bought a tv for that much....she would probably try and have me sectioned.I had a plan..........its here somewhere.0

Had a mixed experience with R&R over the last couple of days - some have worked no problem, but i had a nightmare on monday with a witch of a CS lady who would not give in on out of date / expired SEL's.
The following will hopefully be useful to anyone who has had similar experiences of out of date SELs.
Monday 30/10- Bought phone , SEL 89.xx (expired 29/10), charged 99.99
CS and duty manager would not give R&R despite 10 minutes of standing my ground. Best they would offer was to refund the difference. They WOULD NOT budge!
In the end I accepted a full refund, and took away my receipt, marked as refunded and my tail between my legs.
Tuesday I phoned Head office who confirmed that they should have let me keep the phone but there was nothing *they* could do, I would have to go back to the store to explain.
Wednesday - I just returned to the store in my lunch hour and thankfully there were different staff on at the CS desk. I told them the story about the overcharge, showed them the receipt, told them i had phoned head office who had told me about the policy. One quick call to the DM and I was told "right, i'll go and get you your phone!". They were really apologetic and even wanted to know which member of staff had given me a hard time on monday (sadly i didn't get their name).
So - if any of you have been refused R&R because of out of date SELS and just got a full refund and still got the receipt - take it back and re-tell the story (preferably to a different member of the CS staff). Tell them you've phoned head office and they backed you up on the policy.
THe beauty of this was that at no point in the re-telling did i mention that it was an out of date SEL!
And, wait for it - they gave me a fresh unmarked receipt for the total value £99.99
WAYHAY!!!
This takes my R&R total to £490 in 4 days!0 -

Well ashamed to admit that I am an R&R virgin.
Well I was until today!
Went down to my local Tesco Extra. Saw a yellow SEL for a Motorola Pebl phone. Said £98.97 but when I stuck it through the scanner came up £99.97 (£1 difference).
Bought my shopping then went to Cust serv to collect the phone. When she came back with the phone, I suddenly noticed the price difference!
She went off to the shelf and I went with her just in case (although had already taken a photo with my camera phone).
She then went to speak to the manager. Came back and then just refunded the lot to me without any argument or even me asking for the whole lot!
Have to say though she seemed pretty peed off with me! Said that in no uncertain terms would there be a warranty.
So thank you very much. Was far easier than I thought and am now in my wifes good books for getting her a lovely mobile!
WARNING R&R is addictive though! Went to 4 other local stores afterwards to check their phones (just in case) but no joy.0 -
Its just occured to me that my Local mr T are not helping me in my r&r search, I have my eye on some items due to run out on the 05/11/06, this sunday when they close at 4pm, and do not open again until 8am on monday. Others I have spotted run out on the 11th, a saturday when they shut at 10pm and don't open until 10am on sunday.
This seems like a conspiracy to me, why can't my tescos give me a fair chance of catching them out...:DI had a plan..........its here somewhere.0 -

Their company policy does stipulate that the 'and if things don't add up policy' does not affect your statutory rights. So she was in the wrong, which of course you know and she clearly does not.:T :TI had a plan..........its here somewhere.0 -
alot of the offers i've seen end on a sunday aswell mikeywills
couldn't see any out of date sels last night in 2 stores that i tried
1 store had irobot/minority report at £15.97 on the box and sel, yet the other store had it at £22.97
so should the £15.97 still scan at £22.97, the barcode was creased so wouldn't scan on a price check machine0 -

I believe the Tv's have a dvd style box that you can take to the scanner for a price check?, you never know they might have a sel displayed at £799.xx and now you know the price is £849, if it scans at this price you got urself an overcharge, worth a look :cool:They've got cars big as bars
They've got rivers of gold
But the wind goes right through you
It's no place for the old0 -
Do tesco honour the offer if the offer is out of date?
What would I say if they said that they wont honour it due to the offer expired?
Thanks in advance,
Becci xIt costs nothing to be nice...:)
