It will not hold up Mikey, quite often the net prices are different to the store prices and you cant do anything about it.

I suspect with the recent going ons with this certain TV Tesco's have decided it easier to reduce it down another £50 than risk giving anymore away for free. If stores have it priced at £849 but it scans at £799 which I now suspect it will then there is no R&R as you have to be overcharged not undercharged.

If the stores have left the old price up of £849 then they are fine in a court of law and if some stores still have the old £799 price up then again they are fine.
We took on Mr T and we won:D

Shame it had to end, will have to get free stuff from comps now

i'm sure i read somewhere on tesco site that the price online is the price instore cos they do national pricing...although it doesnt apply to smaller stores cos they have higher overheads and these normally differ by 2-3%.
I will try and find it!!

consumer direct told me when charged the highar of 2 sel because the manager offered to refund the difference after the event he was legally in the clear & they were not intreasted, don't know if this is correct or not?

No it's not correct it's absolute knobrot, an offence has been committed if you were overcharged and Trading Standards are obliged to pursue your complaint, put it in writing, consumer direct is a half baked half @rsed service.

    yep here we go...............

    Fair prices
We understand that customers want low prices, but they also want fair prices. That is why we charge the same prices up and down the country. We sell our products on the basis of a national price list available for all to see on our website. Even in the few locations that are unable to support more than one supermarket, where we are ‘the only supermarket in a town’, we continue to operate on the basis of our national price list.

  • Does that mean sopplayer that if I go to the store, and ask the price on the tv and get told £849.00, and the shelf price is £849.00, then I would be able to do a claim back base on the internet price being £799.00?

I was just thinking (as of my earlier post from their website originally posted by DavidDonna on discount codes n vouchers thread)..

    It says the following:

We aim to fulfil our promises. If you can't find the special offer that we have advertised, we will give you a 'voucher' for your next visit.

If stores have it priced at £849 but it scans at £799 and its £849 on the website but CS offer you the £50 difference, you could always either argue for the full refund or enquire about this 'voucher' promise?

    Any thoughts?

IMHO it really doesn't matter what sopplayer, fred the neighbour's uncle's milkman's brother or the man on the moon think.

The policy is pretty(ish) straight forward - if you are charged more than the price shown on the product or the label etc etc etc.

There are a few exceptions and of course the CS will try to wriggle out of giving a full refund any way they can. but saying you saw it cheaper on the internet is not going to give a positive result.

I hope I'm wrong, good luck but don't hold your breath.

IMHO I would think that if you spotted a price on the web that differed to the price in store you should be able to get it offered at that price. But....I dont think you could get an r+r because you weren't charged more than the shelf label stated in store at the time...hope that makes sense??
