Perhaps we could run a competition to design a 'frequent R&Rer' badge?

Do you not have other things to do to fill your time, surely there are better things in life to be doing and other things to be worrying about - This is in no way a judgement on your lifestyle, i simply fail to understand the mentality behind your intended actions. Taxiphil I can understand as he feels that he has been wronged in a big way (not saying i agree with his actions either, I simply understand his motives!)
The people who shout the loudest are the ones who bring about positive change: Poll Tax demos, Tolpuddle Martyrs, Emily Pankhurst, Fathers 4 Justice, etc.
Besides which, leafleting sounds like good fun. Maybe not to you, I agree, but some of us take great satisfaction from doing these kind of things.0 -
This is getting to be a very heated debate.
The long & short of it is we all want the same thing - correct prices.0 -
no wonder this thread is so long noone keeps on topic.0

Heated debate is good, glad its not a slanging match!!
I would argue your point about wanting correct prices, most posters on this thread are simply out to get free stuff due to pricing errors. Look at the majority of posts on here, they are not complaining about pricing being wrong, they are complaining about not getting a full refund.
I have asked the question before regarding peoples preference and to be fair many people said that they would prefer to maintain the status quo. In balance there are certain individuals that have clearly stated that they would be happy to be charged exactly as advertised and not have anything for free.Fight Poverty - Hit a tramp!
I don't exist, it is merely your imagination.

i want fair pricing but if their pricing is wrong then i would like and to keep the r+r
i hated shopping before- now i love it and i even spend more money in tescos now because of it0 -
What really gets me mad is the book pricing.
when the books are put on the shelf why are they not checked so that they all have the same price stickers on them?
I have seen so many of the same titles with 2 different prices. I know its not tesco that prices them, is it tesco staff that stack the shelf ? who ever stacks the shelves should be more vigilant.0 -
Clasics wrote:So you can CATEGORICALLY claim that NO CS bod is EVER instructed by management in the store to just give the difference of the overcharge and see what happens?
The CS who refunded my Sony W810i today had definitely been instructed by the senior person he spoke to offer me the difference first, as soon as I declined he phoned again and then refunded all £169.97. Never saw the duty manager all done by phone.
I assume the conversation went 'What no, a phone, offer her the difference.'
Second phone call, 'S**t she knows the policy go on then refund the lot.'
Many thanks to OP about the Sony W810i OH has bagged it for an early xmas pressie. All the other stores were on the ball though - shame.
Oh and I wasn't asked for my name & address for £169.97 refund but hubby was for 2 joints of beef and a chicken!! (different store)0 -

What comes across in your posts though taxi is that you seem to think that tesco employees sit behind a desk dreaming up ways of conning people out of their hard earned money and ways to rip people off. The fact is that it simply does not happen. There are no head office instructions to "refund the difference" as there are no store instructions to the same end. There are no head office instructions to avoid the price promise at all costs. There is no instruction from anywhere to take advantage of customers and anyone who thinks that such instructions exist and could remain hidden within such a large corporation is naive to the extreme.
I don't think all Tesco employees are bad. I've had dealings with plenty of staff who are are kind, honest and very decent people who are a great credit to the company. And I don't just mean the ones who give R+Rs without me having to ask, I mean the ones who give all-round friendly and helpful service.
But I think there's a culture of hard-faced thuggery, an arrogant disregard for the laws of the UK, and a really nasty streak within the company which starts at the top and then filters down. I think the company encourages and rewards staff with a ruthless streak in them. The friendly and decent ones don't have a particularly easy passage up the managerial ladder.
As this thread has proved over the last few months, hundreds of stores have put up a fight over R+Rs, using dishonest and often utterly ridiculous ways of trying to dodge the policy. There may not be any written instructions to avoid the price promise at all costs, but many managers clearly think, for whatever reason, that trying to dodge the R+R policy is a better option than honouring it. The fact that this behaviour is allowed to happen so often is scandalous in itself.0 -
