Most of the time I have sympathy for those that are overcharged, most of the time i have sympathy for those that are not treated in the way that one would expect to be treated at a customer service desk. I agree that overcharging is not the correct thing to do for any retail establishment.
I do however think that the above shows the sheer small minded attitude that helps to promote poor service. Do you really have nothing better to do than exercise a vendetta. It truly puzzles me!!Fight Poverty - Hit a tramp!

I reckon this old R&R is really starting to hit home. Yes, Tesco is a multi billion pound comglomerate and the World's third largest retailer blah blah blah...but it didn't get there by giving stuff away. And, yes, I know this R&R palava has been going on for ages, but up until recently (maybe as late as mid-2005?) viryually anyone seemed to know of its existence and certainly not to play them at their own game and actually use it for personal game (and fun). I reckon there are several thousand people doing this R&R'ing now...and the number is growing every day. Whilst I am sure it's still a small 'blip' on Tesco's financial horizon, it must be ever-increasing annoyance.I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!0

This is my first post on this thread, which I read from time to time and hold you guys in high esteem.
I have a few questions..
I haven't seen this policy shown in my local Tesco. Where should I ordinarily find it? Near the CS station? If so I'm going to look more closely.
How do you get goods scanned without taking them to the till? I'm thinking of things like phones and particularly TVs here, which are mentioned by some just above.
What's the best way to start with this kind of Tesco shopping?
(I'm also going to print out and keep in my pocket some notes from some of the postings, particularly about 'offers to treat', 'accepting the offer' and bits on Consumer Law)0 -

Have you read my leaflet? No. In no way am I saying the things that get discussed on here, I will simply be instrusting people to CHECK THEIR RECEIPTS and REMEMBER THE PRICES ON THE SHELF and TO INSIST ON GETTING A FULL REFUND AND RETAIN IN THE EVENT OF AN OVERCHARGE. FAR less controversial than Dottie's instructive demonstration in THAT Tesco ad that seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth.
Whilst I was in discussions with the management at this store, I witnessed an old bloke bring a product back that he'd been overcharged for and was given the 14p difference. He was happy as Larry. Disgusting.I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!0 -

Touché!
We all have elderly relatives and we all get old ourselves one day. I don't like to see old people being taken advantage of. If you think I'm being insincere about that, then that's up to you, but I'm not. I genuinely think it bloody stinks.0 -

Do you not have other things to do to fill your time, surely there are better things in life to be doing and other things to be worrying about - This is in no way a judgement on your lifestyle, i simply fail to understand the mentality behind your intended actions. Taxiphil I can understand as he feels that he has been wronged in a big way (not saying i agree with his actions either, I simply understand his motives!)Fight Poverty - Hit a tramp!

NONE of us clearly have anything better to do with our time or we wouldn't be on here prattling on at all hours. At least I don't work in Tesco all day and then prattle on about it all night like some. :rolleyes:I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!0 -

I saw a couple picking up a psp game yesterday, it stickered price was lower than the sel. I said hello & mentioned the price difference, told them to check it went through at the lower price & if it didnt they were entitled to keep the game & have their money refunded.
I lexplained it states this on the large blue board at the cs desk. They didnt know Mr t's policy but for sure they do now. The gentlemens parting words to me were " I will check my receipts now!!"
My good deed for the day0 -

Absolutely we all have elderly relatives etc...
What comes across in your posts though taxi is that you seem to think that tesco employees sit behind a desk dreaming up ways of conning people out of their hard earned money and ways to rip people off. The fact is that it simply does not happen. There are no head office instructions to "refund the difference" as there are no store instructions to the same end. There are no head office instructions to avoid the price promise at all costs. There is no instruction from anywhere to take advantage of customers and anyone who thinks that such instructions exist and could remain hidden within such a large corporation is naive to the extreme.Fight Poverty - Hit a tramp!

So you can CATEGORICALLY claim that NO CS bod is EVER instructed by management in the store to just give the difference of the overcharge and see what happens? :rolleyes:I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!0
