In terms of where the overcharge is a mistake at till level, or not, it makes no difference whatsoever, and overcharge is when the price does not match that label. The label says £XXX.XX or £XXX.XX - £20 if you spend more the £40. It is not even up for debate whether its an overcharge or not, it is and it makes no odds who overcharges you in the process as you have no control over it, whether it is a checkout mess-up, a mistake on labelling, the store goes to 'joke label R US' and gets a packet of novelty misleading SEL's. It makes no difference, if you a charged more than the Shelf or the Product, R&R applies.
But I would like to say it's very generous giving of these mobiles like the Lindt Choccies !!! :rotfl:Drat and Double Drat, curse that Mr T excuse for not giving me a refund.

Did some shopping today, got to the counter and gave over some coupons to be told thea Tesco only take internet vouchers that say internet vouchers across them ???:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:The curve that can set a lot of things straight is a smile0

just come back from first R+R experience after reading posts today.
Benq-Siemens E71 £99.99
SEL £89.99 expired 29/10
After reading other posts, went with CSA who removed label there and then.
Had to wait for duty manager (seemed like an age) but full R+R no problem. Duty manager did say that as phone was free i don't have any right to a replacement if it is faulty - is this right/legal?

Wouldn't it be great if they sold it as part of the halloween face mask range !! What kudos it would be going up to CS with an overcharged Terry Leahy mask. OOOH I can't wait, if only it where in a MR T store now, I'd have to dash all over the country seeking out one that was incorrectly priced.:rotfl:

Mobiles are hard as an opening R&R. If you keep an eye on the prices you will find that Tescos invariably puts the prices DOWN after the so called offer has expired, so take all mobile out of date offers with a pinch of salt (that's not to say there aren't some out there though).
If you take one to the till with a few other bits, watch as it scans, then if its the right price you find that you have left your credit card at home/spent more than you thought/haven't as much cash as you thought etc. Ask them to take off the phone (or other item you are chancing your arm with) and just pay for your shopping, then you don't get lumbered with something you didn't really want. If you're overcharged, pay for your shopping as usual and toddle off to the CS desk!

Thanks, I tried the start of the thread- and while it explains a lot of things it doesn't explain how you recognise a misprice. Has anyone any tips on what to look for in a potential misprice?0 -

please find the best post on the board for explaining the art of r&r (as posted by Dude).
Top Tips
After a bit of thought I’ve cobbled together what I think are the 4 most important issues to consider when out for R&R - I hope these will be of use to both the newer and more experienced R&R community – but the basic guidance on Post # 1 is invaluable to the newbie – go there first, then come back to the main forum here….
But first of all – forget the Sales of Goods Act and all the other well-intentioned legal arguments – by attempting to buy goods at Tesco that you know are wrongly priced – you are not shopping according to the ‘spirit’ of the Tesco Price Promise.
And if you were to put your hand on your heart and admit this – then the legal arguments come crashing down around you…..
But hey – we love to R&R – that’s why we are all here – well, most of us!
I used to R&R everything I could find – this can be a mistake – your profile amongst the CS staff increases.
When you spot a R&R – ask yourself ‘Is this something I really need?’ Don’t R&R for the sake of it – do you really need the wrongly priced Tesco Value Birthday card?
Dude’s Tip Number One – Only R&R items that you really, really want!
Attitude – when securing R&R quoting Section C and Paragraph 6 of the Sales of Goods Act to CS staff isn’t a good move – treat the staff how you wish to be treated – polite & calm even in the face of potential adversity - keep your profile low, not too much eye contact – you don’t want to be a memorable character because you want to come back!
Dude’s Tip Number Two – Be polite and calm– don’t demand R&R – wait and see what happens – if pushed politely point to the Price Promise.
If you go to the same store and R&R regularly you will become familiar to some CS staff – scope the store when you go in – pretend to look at newspapers or other goods whilst working out who is on duty – try to avoid CS staff who know you and have hassled you in the past – check the CS desk again before you buy in case there has been a shift change.
Try the weekends – mix it up a bit – go after 1930 and you will find different staff – Saturday evenings means you will probably get part-time CS staff - if you have the means go to different stores – if you are after groceries use Metro and Express Stores – use the Tesco web-site to find all the stores closest to you.
Dude’s Tip Number Three – Vary your shopping trip times – visit other stores if you can.
Don’t make it obvious that you are after R&R – be disciplined – if you buy a dozen mp3 players CS staff will undoubtedly know what you are all about – get a couple of items – add in other items of shopping that you need anyway – you need to look like a wronged shopper, not a freebie hunter.
The only exception to this is when you are visiting a store miles away from home, say on holiday or on business – if you know you are unlikely to be seen again for some time then you can push your luck a bit….but each to their own!
Dude’s Tip Number Four – Be disciplined and R&R only a couple of items on a shopping trip.
Anyhow these are my top four R&R tips – hope these are of help to you good Dudes.
Take her easy,

I think I will wear my blue peter badge tomorrow do you think that will help my case for r+r? its a green one too not the common as muck white ones. I also have the millennium white one with the modern ship logo which is pretty rare I think.0 -
Thanks WLFC1, but how do you guys spot a misprice in the first place? I was wondering round tesco rather aimlessly today- anything could have been a misprice- there must be some clues that you can use to spot a misprice or do people come across them purely by chance?0
