If they want to jump to panicky conclusions that you might be a Trading Standards official, it's up to them. But I'm just wearing it because I'm a big fan of my local council
It's amazing what a bit of reverse psychology does. All of a sudden you see the guilt written all over their faces as they fawn over you with apologies and cross your palm with silver in accordance with their advertised policy.
wh smiths??

bkm wrote:So now expecting a letter from HO Tesco’s saying please don’t darken our doorsteps again. I know I’m not legally doing anything wrong but really don’t want to get banned! Will give it a rest for a bit I think. Until I find the £800 tv!
Dont worry BKM it will take a bit more than a couple of phones to get you banned. Just make sure you shop around at different stores and at different times of the dayWe took on Mr T and we won:D
Shame it had to end, will have to get free stuff from comps now :beer:0 -
Just thought I'd add my adventures today.
Only my second visit to the nearest extra,so went straight up the escalator to the tellys, no stock, mobiles had the new offer up so I continued the hunt, thought I got them on a 39.xx iron but scanned at the lower of two labels. No Champers, biscuits, meat.
Was thinking it was a wasted journey so I thought I would have one more go upstairs, just got on the escalator and a display caught my eye.
It was at the end of the sandwich fridges adjacent to the end of that aisle, saw 10% off mobiles....up I went and straight back down!
They had 2 of the A4 signs still advertising the 10% off and two different handsets, a motorola for about 80.xx and the samsung E900 both with yellow SEL stating the discounted price...BINGO.
The best thing was the display was about 6 foot from the CS desk!!
took the cd case to the scanner and scanned at 169.97 instead of 155.xx
Paid for 2, and had to go back to the electrical desk to collect. Went to CS and told them of the overcharge, was told that the offer was for 20.00 off with airtime, no I said I mean that offer, and pointed to the display right by us.
She stood at the display, removed SEL and the A4 flyer but stood there reading it for ages, I could almost see her thought process!
She talked to another bloke who was passing then came back and pointed out the small print about " offer subject to availability, while stocks last" She said that the offer is subject to availabilty.
Confused I said well the phones are here on the desk so they are available!
She then said nothing and she started to re scan the items at the lower price and went to give me the difference. I then mentioned our favourite blue sign and she told me that that only applied to food items!
I asked to speak to the manager and she said she had and he had said to give me the difference as goodwill. I asked to speak to him and borrow a phone to phone head office, so off she went ,gone ages, came back, re scanned the phones, asked for debit card ( I know I should have used cash) and gave me my phones.
Then the best bit, she said " oh you have missed out on lots of points here, have you got a clubcard", no i said so she then went to get a spare and tried to get me to fill out my address!

I'm not posting a pic of my actual badge on here for obvious reasons as loads of Tesco staff come on here. But you can get the blank ones from W.H.Smith or any stationery supplier (Office World, Staples, etc). Their proper name is Combi Clips and they look something like this (apologies for the small image size).....0 -
nice one, kinda makes me feel better about my failed £99 mobile.
My nightmare scenario began when I returned to the phones with the CS lady to show her the £89 SEL - it had been removed!! After that it went downhill.
I was so !!!!ed off I went and got a R&R chicken from a different store on the way home from work to make myself feel better.
It's addictive this, isn't it ?0 -
hi all - are the scanners still working for everyone else, i've tried my 4 local (ish) tescos and all have scanners turned off or not working.:rotfl:Red Hot by name, Red hot by nature. :rotfl:0
