This is all getting a bit heavy!! I've never hidden my identity as I knew I was doing nothing wrong. It is their policy. They are insinuating that I am not a genuine customer. I have spent tens of thousands of pounds in their stores over the years and still am/was. Is this slander? Anyone got any suggestions?

    James,

I've helped countless Dudes on this thread - do a search on 'greed' and you will find some wisdom.

I've always said 'each to their own' - but here are a few of your recent posts:

"It was a freezer day today. £32.48 back from a £42 spend"

"Got some fairy dishwasher tablets 45's. SEL £6.00 reduced from £8.98? Go get them. I've got 6 months worth"

"Has anyone tried for a second game though CS in Dundee. I've got the Xbox but want a PSP"

"I've still seen the signs for the selection boxes around tonight. I don't want any more, I've had over 12 boxes so far"

Is it any wonder you find yourself in the Tesco Radar?

The advice Clasics offered you is spot on.

I suggest that you exercise a little additional caution - only go for R&Rs you really want - and avoid CS types who have dealt with you in the past!

    Good luck,

    Duder

I bought a fuji v10 digital camera and tesco are refuseing me a refund paid 219 on offer 199 i phoned trading standards and there is nothing they can do about getting me a refund but they are not happpy about the missleading price on the shelf so they are looking in to it for me let you know what happens.

I really hope TS get involved with this - it's about time the thorny subject of OOD SELs was sorted out. To me, it's completely misleading price information which I *believe* carries the risk of an unlimited fine.
I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!

Thanks classics. I might just try another store and keep to the simple stuff! LoL

jamesiebabie, do you usually just use 1 or 2 stores for R&Rs?

Have you had any fall out with CS staff or store management?

Have you been involved in any disputes that head office have been involved with?

Sorry for all the questions, but am just trying to work out why they have singled you out, and if the rest of us can expect similar letters.

    James,

Greed is good, Greed is good, Greed is good - Thanks Mr Gecko !!

Say it, Think it, Smell it !

Don't be put off by Hippy Knickers, remember from Taxiphils post in the ethics thread:

'The Godfather" El Tel ("Sir" Terry Leahy), told a CBI conference in 2004 that "all's fair in business", and he's overseen Tesco's growth in accordance with this ethic. He made the statement in repsonse to an allegation that the phenomenal power of Tesco has disfigured the British high street forever by closing down thousands of small independent retailers.

"All's fair in business". Presumably that means that if it's "legal", then morals don't enter the equation. That's my interpretation anyway.

I just thought people should know the way The Godfather's mind works.

"All's fair in business". No morals, no regrets, no tears.

Sounds like a motto we should all adopt when screwing every penny we can out of this bunch of hard-faced scheming !!!!!!!!.'

Let Battle commence, get out there and stick it up them, again and again and again and again.

Trading standards arnt interested in the r+r policy, they only ever want to know about the misprice and over chargeing, I have had stores visited in the past and the get a warning and it is then handed over to the TS office that is local to the Tesco HO.

The advertising standards agency are the ones you tell about them not honnoring things the say they do for ther cusotmers.

    jamesiebabie
Ive gotta agree with the Dude, I also checked your posting history bragging about 6 months worth of dish washer tabs all the phones consoles and constantly contacting Dundee if the store doesnt give you the r+r. unfortunalty you have gone over the top and it has been noticed 5hit happens you have to live with it. you never know you may find a manager that says you can shop there from the letter as long as you get permision before shopping then game on, it could be dificult getting a manager to say yes. "Had to argue the toss at CS" isnt a good way to stay bellow the radar the idea is you go in try to not look obvious as you check the sels on the meat and labels spending 20 minues doing it will draw attention I am sure but not as much as argueing at CS close to the security guard.

You need to spread your shopping out you posted you went to Great Horton they are now on the ball and reading this site there are other stores round that way but may involve 10-20 minutes drive.

Without wishing to start yet another major MSE argument (but unfortunately knowing that I will!), I think that the above post is a disgrace.

Knowing all the problems in the past, you still describe Tesco as 'hard-faced scheming b*stards', and advise everyone to 'get out there and stick it up them, again and again and again and again.'

And by describing Hey Dude, one of the most popular members of this thread, as 'Hippy Knickers' you have gone way over the acceptable limits.

Your statement is incorrect, I quoted another poster (you will see from the quote marks I used !).

I suggest you do your reading a little more carefully.

I await you apology for falsely accusing me of stating something I did not.
