MyUserNamesTaken wrote:JamesieBabie, that letter is excellent. I'm not sure if you realise what you've got in your hands! That is a letter from Tesco admitting that it is trying to make it as hard as possible for customers who it illegally mischarges from using its policy to claim a refund by threat of banning them from its stores. Seriously, that's a letter worth forwarding onto Watchdog and the likes. I would also send it to the main TS office that deals with Tesco. Ask them to look into it. Tesco is punishing you for using its R&R policy. However, you wouldn't be able to use the policy if Tesco didn't keep overcharging you in the first place.
Great idea! But how about we wait a week or so and see how many people get a letter such as this?
Think it would look a lot better with 20 or 30 people going to watchdog/TS over it.
I think with all the heat I seemed to have on friday I may well be getting one too!Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -

A r&r is NOT a statutory right hence only tesco offer the policy.Fight Poverty - Hit a tramp!

But a normal refund is.
I'll just buy loads of stuff and get it all refunded, waste their time like they're wasting mine by making me drive all around the country to go R&Ring!Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -

actually a normal refund isnt....the only way that stores of any nature are obligated to take a product back is if it is faulty.Fight Poverty - Hit a tramp!

The basis for debate in here seems to be hitting a new low
On a personal level, what's your opinion of HO's latest move against R&Rers?

However, Tesco does have its 28 day policy. The letter doesn't actually refer to that. It isn't actually a statutory right. However, it can be seen as part of the contract of sale if a customer's decision to enter into said contract is partly based on that particular nationally advertised policy. I know many people who decide to purchase items from Tesco with the knowledge that they can take it back within 28 days should they change their mind - in line with Tesco's policy. People purchase expensive stuff from Aldi for the same reason - they know there's a no quibble returns guarantee. In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?

Oh well, I'm sure I'll find plenty of other ways to waste their time!
Also I'd like to point out that the store I went to friday afternoon could have been rammed to the rafters with shoplifters/muggers/terrorists but NOBODY would have noticed because all the eyes in the store were on me!
I really felt like a celebrity walking around that store what with almost all the staff on the shop floor nudging one another and saying "yeah thats him" and following me around and getting oh so excited when they see me heading for the self scanner!
I laughed to myself on the way back to the car, I really couldnt believe all the attention I got!
Cant wait to go back down there!Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -

bb999 wrote:jamesiebabie, do you usually just use 1 or 2 stores for R&Rs?
Have you had any fall out with CS staff or store management?
Have you been involved in any disputes that head office have been involved with?
Sorry for all the questions, but am just trying to work out why they have singled you out, and if the rest of us can expect similar letters.
I've PM'd you.Any opinions voiced are entirely my own and in no way represent those of anyone but me.
