I think if ol' Tezza says "All's fair in business" then he and his corporation can't then complain about certain consumers selectively targetting ?(illegaly) mispriced items. That being said. Nobody needs 3 X-boxes. Take what you need!0

A little humour ! I think you must lead a very sheltered life if you consider what I wrote as 'way over the acceptable limits'.

I'm apalled at the reply jamsiebabie got from Tesco, he's obviously done something to upset them!
Now I don't know the legalities of it all, but I'm sure tesco would sooner you pointed out you've been overcharged to them than to Trading Standards, as I'm sure that it is an offence enforcable with them to charge more than the advertised/displayed price, even though the R+R policy is nothing todoy with them, it's Tesco's company policy, not law.
As far as asking the Duty Manager if it's OK to shop there, obviously the shop is their property and they have the right to not let you in, I would want to know the reason for refusal and at each visit and it would have to be a good one, not merely "he keeps find out we make mistakes".
I also think the duty managers would soon get fed up with this and what happens when they are at lunch, in a team briefing or other meeting, will you have to wait at the entrance till it ends?
Obviously if a customer insults abuses or assaults staff they dont want them in their stores and quite right too, but as you have pointed out, you go there often and have spent quite a few quid with them. I'm sure you dont get your money back on everything you buy! (or do you)0 -

I have today received a letter from Mr.T, it reads:
Dear XX XXXXX,
We would like to advise you that our overcharge policy is in place for 2 purposes. Firstly it alerts us to any potential problems and secondly it provides redress to genuine customers who have been involved in a one off pricing error. It is our understanding that you have availed yourself of this policy on more than one occasion.
We, therefore, request that before you commence shopping in any of our stores that you make yourself known to ammeber of our management team, who will then advise you whether they are willing to permit you to shop within their store. The duty managers's decision will be final in all cases.
Should you fail to introduce yourself and subsequently present any item for return under the terms of our refund policy, our price itegrity policy or our bulk buying policy all refunds will be declined.
Also all clubcard points that are obtained for purchases that are subsequntly returned will be removed from your clubcard account.
You would be advised to take this letter with you to the store and present it to the Duty Manager on arrival.
Yours sincerely.

This is all getting a bit heavy!! I've never hidden my identity as I knew I was doing nothing wrong. It is their policy. They are insinuating that I am not a genuine customer. I have spent tens of thousands of pounds in their stores over the years and still am/was. Is this slander? Anyone got any suggestions?
We also got one of these letters this morning. We did get an X-box 360 a week ago after writing to Sir T. We do weekly shop there and do R&R if we are overcharged on anything. We don't go as far as to get 6 months supply of dishwasher tablets, we do sometimes deliberately R&R but tend to do this at other stores and only on things we need/want. I can't see the problem with availing ourselves of the policy on more than one occasion if we find that we have been overcharged on more than one occasion. Does anyone know where we stand with this?0 -

JamesieBabie, that letter is excellent. I'm not sure if you realise what you've got in your hands! That is a letter from Tesco admitting that it is trying to make it as hard as possible for customers who it illegally mischarges from using its policy to claim a refund by threat of banning them from its stores. Seriously, that's a letter worth forwarding onto Watchdog and the likes. I would also send it to the main TS office that deals with Tesco. Ask them to look into it. Tesco is punishing you for using its R&R policy. However, you wouldn't be able to use the policy if Tesco didn't keep overcharging you in the first place. In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

I'm starting to wonder if I might be getting one of those!
If I do I will become the managers worst nightmare, everytime I go into the shop I will ask for him and a reason, like James said, simply saying "you point out our mistakes" isnt good enough.
If they say yes but you cant get refunds on anything I will want to know why as my statury rights are not supposed to be affected?
I'll go there right at the busiest times, take up a load of the managers time then walk out without buying anything anyway.
I will go to the shop 4 or 5 times in a day and ask to see the manager everytime!
And they thought me doing a spot of R&Ring was annoying....Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0
