Managers meeting in Stalybridge Tesco's today all about r+r and ways to stop a lot of people doing it.
More info might filter through tomz,
keep smiling
Kevin
Well I can imagine the conversation in the meeting going something like this (with apologies to Constantine and spa2k...who are worthy of (and show) more respect than all of the managers I have come across so far).
-Absolutely true.
We could have an RandR "happy hour"....
-That's the 2nd-best idea yet.
(Note: Any further mileage in last year's R&R Coach Tours, R&R Fast-track Graduate Mentor Scheme and R&R NVQ Credits?)
We could plant a spy in the MSE forum...should we call him......Tescospy....or something like that.
-For shame! Queensbury Rules and all that!.
We could even attempt to get the prices right.....[/B]
-It'd never catch on. Too labour-intensive anyway

Getting better at this (more brazen), 2 scamming trips different stores, netted
4 x 24 Tetleys Smooth Flow charged £63.92 (£15.98 each), should have been £14.98 each, on a white discontinued SEL - picture of Charlie Hodgson on the box. R&R was automatic, no fuss.
10 x 4 Knats !!!! Lager, usual 2 for £6 going through till as 2 for £6.30 - £33.90 R&R. I have now hit the same store 3 times for batches of Fosters !
Different CS today, took SEL down, shed a quiet tear, it had served me well
CS put up a fight on this one, only wanted to give the difference, advised her to speak to her manager, never saw him, CS came back and paid up.
5 Packs of Fresh Aberdeen Angus Burgers scanned £1.59 SEL £1.49 - R&R £7.95.
NB: wont be getting any more of these, have eaten too many and have too many vegetarian friends.
Is my snout as big as Sir Terry's yet ? Doubt he gives a stuff.0 -
sarahg1969 wrote:I had an issue with some Finest ready meals last week. CS refused refund on the basis that the discount had already been applied to the SEL price (SEL said £1 discount deducted at checkout) and I had simply misread the label. To me, the price was unequivocal. SEL price LESS £1.00 at checkout.
I telephoned HO, who said they would take the matter up with the store, heard nothing, so phoned last Friday. They had no record of my earlier call! However, said that it could be that someone is dealing and has not put it on their system, so give them another day.
Today, I phoned again, and again no record of either of my calls last week!
Since last week, I have discovered that the SELs have now been amended to read "Save £1 when you by two", which I suspect was supposed to be the offer all along. However, the provisions manager misled me, by saying that each item was indeed reduced by £1, and that the deduction had already been made within the price.
HO today confirmed that the prices I paid are in fact the normal prices, and not reduced prices, and that they would speak to the store, and come abck to me.
I then reminded them that I have the SELs (they were mistakenly put in my bag with my shopping) and that I have referred the matter of the misleading pricing to TS.
The lady then said that, as TS are acting for me, they cannot deal with my overcharge query until that has been dealt with.
I tried to explain that TS are not acting for me. They have no interest in my overcharge or the matter between Tesco and myself. I simply pointed out a misleading price indication to them, and they will do with that as they see fit. It's nothing to do with me.
In any event, how will I know if and when it's been dealt with, so I can get Tesco to deal with my overcharge problem?
She said that there's nothing she can do now that TS are involved, and that was that.
TS don't care about my overcharge; they only care about any potential criminal activities. I've no doubt I won't even find out if they do anything about the SELs (which are now gone in any event, although I have retained 3 of them).
I know it's only £11-odd, but it's really niggling me now.
What next? Anyone have any ideas?
TIA
Sarah
Store phoned and apologised today, and I've been in and collected my full refund. Including an extra £1, whch was deducted as a multi-buy. I told them it was on there, and they couldn't work out how to remove it.
And I told the lady I spoke t about the manager, who told me that the prices were reduced by £1 when they were clearly not. She told me that maybe he was new, but she would note this down as a training issue. Hm.
Happy to have a result, anyway.0 -

Glad you only left the gravy mix mate....its crap with beef anyway....
Good to see you getting out a bit further......Its a whole new ball game in new stores. And its good to get out after a lay off, like mcdonag said earlier.....You begin to think you cant do it anymore, and start to worry about the first one(again)....but as soon as youve done it....the hunger comes back for more....Couponing....."every little hurts"
