sopplayer wrote:What would be your argument on this as surely they could come back with "you have been charged less than pack price so it must have gone through at the lower price as indicated on the shelf"
Don't be confused Dude.....please don't!
The Price Promise goes - "if you are charged more than the price shown on the item or shelf they you get to keep the product and we refund you your money" - or something like that.
So with the chicken example you have been charged a higher 'per kg' price than that shown on the shelf - or Shelf Edge Label to be precise - the actual price of the chicken is not important!

I really hope you arent one of the latter, as its great to have "balanced" comments that we get from our resident managers and known employees.
Can you explain what information you can glean from our club cards please.
Wind your neck in Leadhead, let this 'new' poster come out into the open before throwing the boring Troll accusation at them, it is tiresome.
Clearly Tesco's can identify everything bought on a clubcard and every credit card/debit card used with a clubcard. Therefore I would imagine they can legally do a credit check and get the personal details of each person i.e. address etc.
That is why I would suggest do all your Tesco's shopping strictly cash and never use a clubcard. If you get a clean receipt i.e. no refunds on it, you can add them to your clubcard later.
OR is there a unique identifer on the bottom of each receipt ?? seems to be a 16 digit number to the right of the date and time. Probably just paranoia.0 -
Redfox and the other Mods,
Given that some postees have gone a little crazy today I just want to publicly reiterate my previous suggestion.
If some Dudes make a point of posting twaddle and winding people up can you please ban/suspend their accounts and not punish the majority who are here to discuss mis-prices.
For example - Amishi posted: Of course we can and do trace customers who present a clubcard to us when abusing company policy
Aside from being complete nonsense that will possibly put off newbies it is clear that this individual - given that it's their first post - is just trying to wind peole up - and at least one person has bitten.
Again - please punish the minority - not the whole community!

No - they cannot do a credit check without your permission.
Agree with the clubcard-related statements you made.

PS Both you and Leadhead seem like good people - do me a favour and ceasefire with Leadhead - bite the bullet - we don't want this thread closed down.0 -

"Can I ask whether you are in management in a store, or a HO representitive, in CS?" - This is irrelevant.
"Can you explain what information you can glean from our club cards please"?
It contains details of every consumer in the UK at their home address across a range of demographic, socio-economic and lifestyle characteristics along with intelligent profiling and targeting specific. This profiling can rank your enthusiasm for promotions, your brand loyalty, whether you are a "creature of habit" and when you prefer to shop.
Every customer who has joined the scheme has their own file. Which lists all of the above, everything you buy and return, when, at which store and how often.
And for the record - for all you pessimists out there. I have no intention whatsoever of winding people up, whether they be 'newbies' or 'oldies' for that matter. As I have stated, my first posting yes, but an avid viewer for a very long time. You're thanking the wrong person, do thank Clasics though :kisses3: after all, it was he who gave us the thumbs up to monitor those less than genuine customers who flocked to said TV and proceeded to do a LOT of checking. Thanks, we now have a lot of footage.
Very little helps0 -
I have been told today that
"Tesco's refund policy is there for recreational purposes, it is not there to be abused which you are obviously doing"
Anyone any idea what "Recreational use" means? Does that mean I can only take it down the park to play footy with it? :rotfl:We took on Mr T and we won:D
Shame it had to end, will have to get free stuff from comps now :beer:0 -

No worries.
Let's try something else - a nice juicy steak.
This huge steak weighs 10 kg
Price on the shelf (SEL) is '£9 per kg'.
Price on the pack is '£10 per kg' - so the actual price on the pack is £100 (i.e. 10 kg of weight multiplied by £10 - being the price per kg).
Now the SEL has a lower price - according to the SEL you should have paid £90 - 10 kg of weight multiplied by £9 - being the price per kg on the shelf.
So you have been charged more than the price shown on the shelf - i.e. the 'per kg' price!
Please, please let me know if you get this??????

...which we are all entitled to see under the Data Protection Act, along with all the other grubby little notes the sewer rats at store level have made about us.
Oh, and you took all that word-for-word from an article in the Guardian which appears here: http://politics.guardian.co.uk/foi/story/0,9061,1573989,00.html0
