Forgot to check that one today, duh. But I probably wouldn't have gone for it there was a too familiar face at cs, I even bottled a bottle of CK EDT for men £24.94 scanning at £32. There is hope though I think they were training a new girl, hopefully she'll be on there tomorrow and I can 2 CK's.;)

Wind your neck in Leadhead, let this 'new' poster come out into the open before throwing the boring Troll accusation at them, it is tiresome.

Clearly Tesco's can identify everything bought on a clubcard and every credit card/debit card used with a clubcard. Therefore I would imagine they can legally do a credit check and get the personal details of each person i.e. address etc.

That is why I would suggest do all your Tesco's shopping strictly cash and never use a clubcard. If you get a clean receipt i.e. no refunds on it, you can add them to your clubcard later.

OR is there a unique identifer on the bottom of each receipt ?? seems to be a 16 digit number to the right of the date and time. Probably just paranoia.

Didn't you read this earlier, and I thought you actually read all this thread.....it is a unique number.....and thats how they can trace your already refunded items to your club card, and then take the points off you........I believe the order is (although the order is irrelevant)

Store number, till number, operator number, and transaction number....
    Couponing....."every little hurts"

But all the people can't be all right all the time. .........I think Abraham Lincoln said that.

If you add receipts to your clubcard the transactions are then linked to you. I have been given receipts by other customers to use their points and when I go into my favourites in my online accounts the items purchased are in my history. If you r&r use cash and forget about the points.

I think all Club card users should read the investigation conducted by the Guardian on the link below (as noticed by taxiphil)

I think the chicken poster (shout if I'm wrong) was getting confused.

    They saw something like:

    Chicken £1.99 kg (Pack)
    Chicken £1.88 kg (SEL)
    Chicken price on pack £1.86.

So I think they have got confused with the actual price they paid (£1.86) and have perceived this as being less than the SEL per kg price (£1.88)....

Is it time for a beer yet?

    Duder

yep that would explain it :D ....i thought i was missing something :o

so just to clarify....you will always get charged at the till what is printed on the packs, and if there is a corresponding sel stating a different price per kg to the kg on the pack its an r+r.

many thanks for your replys Duder, hopefully our discussion will help others that use this thread :T

Deffo time for a beer

Back from meeting up with a friend for coffee and have just spent an hour reading the replies. My goodness! Never thought little old me, R&R virgin, could cause such problems from a naïve question!

    For the record:

Leadhead: I apologise. I would have done sooner, but I went out. I never meant to offend anyone but there are about a gazillion posts on this thread, so as an R&R newbie I’m hardly gonna read each one before posting (in my defence, I did start at the beginning of part 12!), and I never even knew there was an ethics thread until after the question was out of the box. And I really didn’t think it was an ethical issue, more about the legality of R&R…

Redfox, !!!!!! D – thanks for the clarification.

Monster Deals, spa2k, taxi97w, etc - thanks for your support

Hey Dude – will you marry me? (just joking, I’m 39 weeks pregnant so I don’t suppose I should be asking you ;))

Have to confess to being a bit scared of how feisty you all are. But none of you are as scarey as Amishi…. (cue Hammer House of Horror type music). Do you get many like him....?

I promise I will shut up about the ‘subject that is not to be spoken of’ now and concentrate on finding out how to R&R – and Your Dudeness, if you fancy pm’ing me your guide, it would be well received.

    Good weekend to all :kisses:

Truly scary. I mean truly scary. Gives my R&R'ing with CASH even more impetus.
I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!

No worries - that's what we are all about.
