Oh, and you took all that word-for-word from an article in the Guardian which appears here: http://politics.guardian.co.uk/foi/story/0,9061,1573989,00.html

    That is one scary article!

I will never be using my clubcard again now, regardless of R&Ring or not, I dont wanna be helping them out with their spying at all, and I will always refuse to give details at CS desk from now on.
    Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently! ;)

I was asked for my name and address for the first time this week and she wanted to keep my receipt to which I said no way there was other shopping on there. No need for them to keep the receipt the transaction would be stored on their system anyway, but she still made a fuss and photocopied the receipt. I think that this is often just done to put you off r&ring there again, I was asked to write my name on a scruffy piece of torn paper, hardly professional.

Just been watching the Simpsons, got a few more classic name ID's to add to the names I give when they ask for details. :rotfl:

God only knows what the buying pattern of Mike Hunt throws up in the database. And Ivor Bigun seems also to be a highly repetitive R&Rer. ;) :rotfl: :D
Drat and Double Drat, curse that Mr T excuse for not giving me a refund.

EVERY LITTLE EXCUSE HELPS in trying to get out of the R&R policy when the law has been broken, especially on high value items. :D

My mum used to work in a docks canteen and they caught her out with the Mike Hunt joke, her boss had to ask her to stop shouting for him to collect his meal he had ordered on the phone. :D

    How about R. R. Freely?

Have often thought about using that one.

The few times I have been asked for my details I have had to write them down on a slip of paper (like a receipt) that gets stapled to the refund slip and put in the til. Never usually gets looked at so you could put anything you like on there!

Yes FloFlo......this is just another bit of Mr Tesco's intimidation policy....I was getting a refund(not RandR.....sob) last week and the CS girl was almost in tears when I refused to give my details...in the end she pleaded with me to give a postode........I did,(because she was on my side) just to make her feel better.........can't remember whose it was tho....or if it was valid.

As i posted earlier in the week, they have no right(in law) to demand any such details from you..........but if you pay using your Credit Card...at least make sure you give the correct name....as your name is on your credit card....and if you give an incorrect one, you could find the police being called(not your card)..........but you can give any address, as this isnt on your card or available to Tesco's.
    Couponing....."every little hurts"

Half of the people can be part right all of the time, Some of the people can be all right part of the time.
But all the people can't be all right all the time. .........I think Abraham Lincoln said that.

    (off topic, apologies!)

Many moons ago my college lecturer was called Mike Hunt. Totally true story; we had a rather lovely French exchange student at the college who had been 'assigned' to our Mr Hunt and tended to pester him quite a lot. She knocked on the lecture room door one day and, observing that Mr Hunt was nowhere to be seen, asked the class in her sexy French accent:

    'Anyone seen Mike Hunt?'

'Unforunately not, Miss Favre' I opined.

I was 18 at the time, I still get all hot and bothered when I think about it now. :D

I got a pair of the girls combats on r&r but they don't fit DD, not sure whether to take them back to a different shop with no receipt to see if they'll swap them. I'm worried they'll have had so many r&rs on these that they'll catch on straight away.

You can bet your bottom dollar that they would have had many more people buy them who DIDN'T notice the overcharge! You should be fine.
