  • "unit price is a guide only" ?????? Well that must be ok then, SEL states 5.50kg and was charged 8.00 kg but its ok because the SEL is only a rough guess!!
    what utter rubbish!

I have seen this sign up in a shop I was in the other day, I did wonder about it at the time but seeing as I couldnt find any meat to R&R I didnt get the chance to challenge it. Will still give it a go even if I do see one of those signs!

If i saw one it would make me even more determined to go for the R&R!!

if I've read the last one right it says that the price online is the price you pay in store.....interesting
They've got cars big as bars

C/S said that they now have a disclaimer sign to prevent meat overcharges, cos 'It's cost us thousands'. It states

on an official yellow card. There was one of these on the meat dept, & the C/S bod had a job to find it.

Does anyone know if they can do this? Surely if there was only one price listed the sign may be valid, but with two prices displayed it comes under the ASA rules, or does it?
  • Hi Guys,

My local C.S. closes at 10 p.m. but the store is open 24 hrs.

What's the score when C.S. is unmanned ?

    Thanks in advance.

I always ask for the night manager or team leader, I have had night manager and team leader refund me in the past or at the very least sign my receipt to say I was overcharged.

They did this in my local store and I reported them to Trading Standards who told them they couldn't do this. You can't have (for example) a great big yellow special offer signs stating a reduced price per kg or special offer which the shopper is entitled to rely on, then put in very small print on the product a higher price per kg and then say you haven't been overcharged because the actual pack price is shown on the item. As I pointed out, we are not all Carol Vorderman and shouldn't be expected to calculate whether the price per kg charged is correct... and they were told to remove all the signs which they did...

Having said that, you still have the devil of a job getting a mispriced item by the price per kg from this store!

They always look smug... Saying that, the photos up in Morrisons (was Safeways) are worse.

Those photos suck. I hate mine with a passion.

Can't believe anyone can have worse ones.
