But all the people can't be all right all the time. .........I think Abraham Lincoln said that.

if one store is charging one price and another store is charging a higher price for the same item - good example at the mo is buckaroo £1.xx and others seem to be paying £6.xx, have you got the right to ask for the lower price?

How would you prove it, please don't say you'd tell them to check this thread.:rotfl:0 -
asda about 5 yrs ago had the same policy as Tesco have now, give you the product free. 2 TV's later and the GSM was up in arms and it seemed to be fazed out.
There are so many promotions in a store at any one time it is impossible to keep on top of them. TESCO is no worse than ASDA for misprices but as there is little incentive to look for them in ASDA ( us MSE are not scouring everylast sqaure inch) they look like a more competent store at misprices. I have worked in the CS at ASDA and all supermarkets are a bad as each other becuase usually there is a v small team of hourly paid staff trying to ensure correct POS and SEL, and there isn't enough hours to do it all in.0 -

They log a self scan ...
... and ten minutes later they log a R&R on that item.
Bit of CCTV footage from the CS desk and the cashiers ...
Of course, you're right : the overcharge still took place and so the R&R is fair. I'm just saying that it would definitely mark you out as playing the system.
As they seem largely incapable of getting many of their products priced correctly, do you really think they are up to co-ordinating something like this.
Tesco's don't pay the sort of wages for the vast majority of their jobs to attract staff that could do this. If they did decide to pay good money to attract quality staff, they would cost more money than they could possibly try and save.
And how would they save money anyway ? Scanning an item to check the price is not a crime, buying an item knowing you will be overcharged is not a crime, pointing out to CS that you believe you have been overcharged is your right, Tesco's policy is then to bribe you by giving you a refund and the product not to take the matter up with Trading Standards.
The funny thing is I cannot remember ever being undercharged for an item, therefore in my view much of the overcharging is quite deliberate.0 -
I was undercharged when buying my son some trousers label was £7 charged £6. OK it was only £1 but as the saying goes, Every little helps.0

That would not happen. Waste of time, effort and pointless.Who or what was I before you came in to my life

No. Different stores can charge different prices. For example, say one store had 3 mods of toys and another had 8 mods. Buckaroo may well drop out of range for a 3 mod store, triggering a price reduction (typically 50% then 75% until sold through), whilst staying in range for the 8 mod store (and therefore staying at the original price).Who or what was I before you came in to my life

No, but you could say to cs that you noticed it when you were in X store and please could they check ie phone them? Don't know if it would work but if they are not advertising nationwide special offers then surely that is misleading the customer once again......??
If you want a different size in clothing, for example, most cs will phone another local store for you to see if they have it in stock, so if they can do that then why not this?? They wouldnt want to overprice their customers would they...???0
