Are you saying if the SEL is £20.74 for the lanson champagne, that it comes up at £21.74???
Can someone confirm asap as off to tesco's!!! :T :j0 -
Did my first r&r tonight ... I got 2 tins of the McVities Temptation biscuits. Felt dead nervous while I was shopping and forgot to buy half of the stuff I actually needed cos I was so busy looking for other r&r's!!
The lady on cs went and checked the sel and then checked with her colleague who was really plesant and smiled and gave me the £15.98 back without any argument ! Thank you whoever posted this originally :T
Just when I was trying to decrease my time spent on here I have found another thread that will keep me occupied for ages !!!! Aagh!Mortgage Total: £51,549 / £75,000

The sel was £21.7? in the store I looked in today0 -
Just done a spot of night fishing, managed to get a couple of steaks and 12 boxes of Lindt chocolates, £48.29 of R&R, CS didn't mark the receipt so went to the Tesco's in the next town and returned them (10 boxes, kept 2 for presents) under the 28 day policy, £34.90 cash, early Christmas present from Mr T.
All is fair in business as Tesco's top snouter has stated, every little helps.
NB: checked the Champagne, SEL was £21.74 in the 3 stores I went to.
The Champagne and Chocolates were SEL £20 with not an £18 display box in sight.0 -

VeryTrying wrote:From my own experience, I don't agree that other supermarkets are as bad as Tesco. On Monday I spent £97 in Morrisons, and a BOGOF didn't work on £4.80 worth of goods. CS apologised and refunded me £2.40. Not very good at sums, but I think this is a 2.5% overcharge on the total cost of my shopping basket.
Yesterday, spent £3.58 in Tesco, overcharged £1 on one item, therefore £1.51 refunded. This was a 39% overcharge. Or, to put it another way, I bought two things, one was wrongly charged for - a 50% error rate. Not good.bagand96 wrote:Without going into the endlessly boring world of statistics, the two samples are not comparable. With that logic your saying 50% of Tesco products are mispriced. Also take into account your previous knowledge of Tesco's mispricing and how to spot them, it even further corrupts the samples. I still stand by the fact that if you did a true, unbiased sample of the big four over a period of time the results would be fairly similar + or - a few %.
You misunderstand the statistics, perhaps that's why you find them endlessly boring! I compared a 2.5% overcharge at Morrisons with a 39% overcharge at Tesco. Also an incorrect assumption was made that I had used prior knowledge. That was not the case - when I bought the items in Tesco, R&R was far from my mind (and I don't deliberately seek out misprices of £1.51 anyway). Luckily, out of habit I checked the receipt before leaving.
It would be difficult to do an unbiased sample, which was why I posted from my own experience. Based on my shopping baskets, Tesco are far and away the worst of the supermarkets I shop at.
Which is very lucky for those who like R&Ring, isn't it?0 -
bagand96 wrote:Yes I agree with that point. I have said before it is beyond me why Tesco have not moved to "See product for price" accross the meat range. Then again a lot of what they do is beyond me..
This is what I have been getting at BIG HEADLINES make for higher SALES, but also for a HIGHER instance, of having to prepare the spare room for MR C*ck UP !!
See pack price for details, is not as attention grabbing as a big sign saying 'GET IT HERE .... £2 off per KG'
It's all down to aggressive marketing, which is the reason why the staff at store level can't keep up.Drat and Double Drat, curse that Mr T excuse for not giving me a refund.
EVERY LITTLE EXCUSE HELPS in trying to get out of the R&R policy when the law has been broken, especially on high value items.0 -
