They weren't the yellow promotional stickers you see on some packs of meat. These were stickers put over the original price, by the store to reflect the new SEL. There were about 20 relabelled packs, I saw 3 incorrectly priced and picked up smallest 2 as only OH eats beef.
this is so confusing for me
  • was it the llansamlet tesco by any chance???
  • On a different subject, the Lanson Black Label Champagne that had a sel of £20 something the other day has a new sel for £21 something in my local today so may be worth scanning it if you find it with a sel for £20 something now.
Real men never follow instructions; after all they are just the manufacturer's opinion on how to put something together. :p

Ok I know the type you mean now, seen this done a few times recently. Sorry for the confusion.

So she got half way through the refund when another more senior looking manager appeared and had obviuosly been briefed somewhere else because he started trying to tell me it was for a different product, so had to give him a lesson on his own barcodes,he tried to tell me that all the meat packs had to match the code on the SEL exactly. I pointed out the part which shows the price in the barcode and he tried to tell me that was a coincidence!!!!...on 4 packs mmmmmnn.
in our tescos there are original bar coded packs at 10.87 and 12.87 but all yellow stickers say 10.37 does this mean anything is this valid for r+r?

Why? Does that store regularly abuse customers?

Say Becky was not a genuine customer, but instead was a thief who had changed the labels to steal the product. Would you expect any retailer to hand over the goods in those circumstances?

Again, for the sake of clarity - I am not accusing anyone of anything. Hell, it could all be wrong - I was not there and have know way of knowing what happened. Just trying to offer an alternative POV.

    ...............................................................................

From the sounds of it, the store believed (rightly or wrongly) that the price labels had been tampered with. For that reason, they have refused the refund and have retained them.

It is something that happens fairly regulary, unfortunatly. Some people consider retailers fair game, whether it be shoplifting or swapping prices.

It goes without saying - I am not accusing anyone on this site of any wrong doing. Simply trying to explain from the stores perspective.

Agree with what you are saying here (2 posts above), but surely a man who has made his way to manager should have the tact and sense to realise that it would be impossible(never mind improbable) that Becky could have found 2 identically weighted pieces of meat in a previous store....managed to peel the labels off so as not to damage them or be seen, and transplant them without notice onto identically weighted pieces in another store.

This is what fairytales are made of......In this case I cant see how anyone can(and I'm not saying you are) defend the guy who did this.......a "clever" guy as well.
    Couponing....."every little hurts"

Half of the people can be part right all of the time, Some of the people can be all right part of the time.
But all the people can't be all right all the time. .........I think Abraham Lincoln said that.

Now, if the 'accused' had been Derren Brown, perhaps....
I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!
