I am laying off r&r ing meat as it is not worth the hassle(i posed my experiences yesterday) it seems to be the one area that really gets you attitude from C/S. saw sirlions today with 4 different prices on them but no longer had the confidence to tackle them.
lots to be had in and around cardiff area if anyone out and about there.0 -
My mate had some fun this evening. She bought some choccy biscuits (3 tins) and was overcharged. She went to CS and told the CSA about it, who then checked the SEL (which she did not remove). She came back and said that it was an expired offer, so no overcharge. Obviously, my mate was not happy with this so complained some more. CSA then said she'd phone the duty manager. She spoke on the phone briefly, then came back to my mate and said that she'd been told that it was not an overcharge as the offer had expired and that covered the store. She would, however, give her the difference. My mate could see this woman wasn't going to budge, so demanded a full refund on her entire trolley load of shopping, which she got. She then left the shop and called me. I told her to get back in there and demand to speak to the DM, citing the relevant legislation, etc.
As she walked back in, the CSA who had originally served her saw her and ran off. She then spoke to another CSA and asked for the DM. The DM turned up and asked my mate to explain the problem, which she did. She also added that she'd been told that it was a criminal offence to give misleading price indications, etc, etc... DM didn't even argue it. She apologised on behalf of Tesco for the overcharge and said the store carries 10,000 lines. She went on to say that very occasionally, expired SELs are missed which results in customers being overcharged. She then gave my mate back the three tins of biscuits for free. My mate then told her that she was seriously angry about the CSA and asked the DM if she'd been called by the CSA about the overcharge. The DM said that this was the first she'd heard of it and that the CSA had never spoken to her on the phone! Apparently, the CSA had been talking to thin air when she told my mate she was calling the DM. DM said she'd reprimand the CSA - no wonder she ran off! I was !!!!ing myself laughing throughout, as my mate had me on the phone still the entire time she was in store talking to the DM. I've never heard a DM grovel so much in my life.
Moral of the story: Never take a CS assistant's word for it when she/he says she's spoken to the DM. Ask to see the DM yourself. In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

jubblinsm wrote:No luck today - DAB radio sel at 39.97, no Phillips MP3's, Lindt chocs sel at 3.49 and Champers & chocs sel £ 20, with no stickers on boxes.
Does anyone else shop in the Ipswich area with any luck on misprices, went in armed with my list and seemed like they were on the ball!
Also can someone advise the diff between the yellow & white sel's - if they are on multi saves / offer they are yellow & normal price white?
Thanks.
try the book section - rich pickings in both copdock and martlesham :rotfl:
i got couple of books in both stores today and also some lindt chocs in martlesham store (took the last few of em sorry) ;-)

My brother in law has just had a run in with the Dave the Security Manager at the Stevenage Branch, apparently Dave behaved appallingly !
He got overcharged on two Bush freeview boxes, SEL 29.97 SCANNED at £34.97, he was told to go the electrical desk to query the price and from that moment the staff in that store went into panic and paranoid mode, apparently you could just tell that it was a very unusual occurance, after a period of scratching his head and checking that SEL matched up with items (time and time again) he was taken down to the CS desk (stopping several times to tell other members of staff about the misprice, you could see this was a big event at this store).
Anyway Mr Electrical Department man said "he has been overcharged on these two boxes and needs a full refund" The two (yes both) trundled off and returned with Nazi Dave (obviously a keen follower of this website) straight away Dave said " I understand that you've just come from the Tesco in Hatfield" my brother in law truthfully replied "No I haven't and I am happy for you to cross check your cctv" Nazi Dave then asked for his name and he replied with his true name (which matched the till receipt thingy for tv licensing people) he also produced evidence that confirmed that he given his correct name, Dave then asked why he had bought two boxes?, to which he replied "because I have 2 daughters and two bedrooms".........does he really need to justify what he has bought?.
This seem to stun Dave as he was sure he had collared the Hatfield r&r er, he then quickly apologised and departed as quickly as he came, my brother in law asked who he was "they said he's called Dave and he's the Manager" my brother in law said "what the store manager?" they replied "no I think he's the Security Manager, but we don't know his surname".
Well Dave, my brother in Law wants me to pass on his best wishes and he is now going to spend rather more time looking for misprices in your store, but will take his weekly shopping to Asda where he is not made to feel like a criminal.0 -
