Quality post. Did it take you long to come up with?Who or what was I before you came in to my life
I am not sure0 -

No laughing matter - if this is to be a full and thorough investigation then it will have to be tasted at some point. Maybe it could have been infected with sarin capsules by that nasty Mr Bin Laden?? This Duty Manager is clearly going beyond the regular call of duty. A hero, in other words. Although some might say !!!!!!. Not I, of course. :rolleyes:I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!0 -
Caviar is overrated anyway, tastes like crap compared to fillet steak washed down with Becks/Montana Sauvignon blanc.
(yes I am so uncouth as to drink white wine with steak, but rest assured, if I could find a decent red on R&R thats what I would be quaffing)Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -
Plushchris wrote:If you hadnt had a refund at this point the steaks were still your property and this is pretty much theft. You should have insisted you had the original steaks back, regardless of their investigation.
I hadn't had a refund at this point, but she wouldn't return them. Should have asked her to fingerprint me as I never touched the stickers! Total refund was £18.85, my local store is pretty good price wise very few misprices. And the 3 or 4 times I have had an R&R over the last couple of years I have never been made to feel like I was today. Genuine misprices are a great find if you want the item, but who in their right mind is going to go round stores picking of labels? Or go to a store and find packs of meat that are going to be identical in weight to packs in another store and then take them in buy identically priced packs and switch them for an R&R?
I have neither the time or the inclination nor the criminal mind for such activities.I love this board, have "virtually" met so many lovely people, people I am honoured to count as friends.

mybad, he clearly has gone beyond the regular call of duty, perhaps avoiding a major catastrophe! I think we should nominate him for the "goldstar employee of the year award" :T
*three cheers for the duty manager*
perhaps becky should ask Tesco for some recognition for the part she played in the discovery of the "tampered meat" .. some gift vouchers would be nice eh?"Do not look back and grieve over the past, for it is gone, and do not be troubled about the future, for it has yet to come. Live in the present, and make it so beautiful that it will be worth remembering"0 -
biglugs wrote:Becky004 - did you actually get a refund AND get to keep the meat, as per their policy? Or did they make you buy it back again?
Either way I would write a letter of complaint to your local Trading Standards officer, and copy it in to Sir Terry Leahy and the store manager of your local store.
Point out that Tesco is in breach of product advertising laws, they are flouting their contract terms by refusing to abide by their price promise, that when you complained they accused you of attempting to defraud them, and that you would like the TS officer to visit the store to investigate whether Tesco is committing any other such offences on other customers.
Tell them that you are a regular customer and are appalled at the fact that Britain's largest supermarket should be allowed to so blatantly flout the law and that you feel something ought to be done to prevent anyone else being put through the same shameful experience that you were forced to undergo.
Nil carborundum illegitimati.
I had a refund but no product, she said if I wanted the product I would have to re-purchase 2 correctly priced packs, which she thoughtfully brought back to the CS desk with her. She refused to return the 2 packs I had already paid for as she said they were needed for the investigation.I love this board, have "virtually" met so many lovely people, people I am honoured to count as friends.

No luck today - DAB radio sel at 39.97, no Phillips MP3's, Lindt chocs sel at 3.49 and Champers & chocs sel £ 20, with no stickers on boxes.
Does anyone else shop in the Ipswich area with any luck on misprices, went in armed with my list and seemed like they were on the ball!
Also can someone advise the diff between the yellow & white sel's - if they are on multi saves / offer they are yellow & normal price white?
Thanks.Can't resist a bargain!!0 -
becky004 wrote:Went to a Tesco I have never been to before. Sirloin had yellow SEL £10.37 kg, packs had been repriced with yellow reduced stickers, some marked up at £10.37 and some at £10.87, bought 2 packs stickered at £10.87, no further reduction came off at the till.
I won't go there again, I got her name and the store managers, but who should I complain to, as I feel I was treated as a liar and a criminal!
P.S. I still have the receipt with overcharge written on it
Becky004, i had a very similar experiance in a store in Norfolk, is that where this store was?
If so please please complain to head office with regards to their conduct.
It is disgusting that they should be allowed to get away with these kind of comments and attempts at a public verbal intimidation.
just my point of veiw...:j I'm keen :j:mad: The name has been changed to protect the innocent:mad: Well almost0 -
becky04 they were yours, not the managers to take from you. I would be contacting the police I wouldnt have allowed them to give me a refund or sell the other packs to me.
Its find to say this after the incident but the manager took your property. Contact head office and see what they say or email them and CC the email to Sir Terry so they can see you sent it to his office as well as the CS office.0 -
finally got off my butt long enough to withdraw £330, had me dinner then headed back to tescos for 2 mp3 players. horror, disgust and heartbreak quickly followed as i got through the door, had a sly peep at thr cs desk to see who was on, and saw a guy r+ring said mp3!!
quick jog to the shelf confirmed my worst fears, £300 missed out on cus i took too long chewing my prawns. if you got an mp3 at about6.30 pm tonite, well done, you beat me by 2 minutes!!0
