Just for my understanding, when you ask for a price check the store produces a label for you to keep?Fight Poverty - Hit a tramp!

blackcateddie wrote:Did you speak with the manager, this is so clear cut. If the sticker on the book is cheaper then it is illegal for them to them charge you more to buy them. They can refuse to sell you them but once the deal is done then they have no choice but to refund you because of the overcharge.
What grounds did they give you?
They can't use the one about a shelf price because there isn't one for these, there is no multibuying going on because you bought different books, can't think of how they can get out of this. It's their product and their sticker so their responsibility.
Good luck with your approach to head office, me - I would go back and speak with the shop manager0 -

I assume spa2k that YOUR store doesn't ?!
I haven't been 'given' one yet - but then I either use a self scanner ( if I can find one working ) or put back/buy - I wouldn't ask a member of staff, so maybe this is the new thing with Tesco
If you are following the Cranium game saga on that thread there is no consistancy in the till prices at all for this game, nor for the buckeroo - so individual stores printing out price labels wouldn't surprise me in the slightest.0 -

It is not possible for stores to print out price labels showing exactly what they want it to show, the system prices are set centrally and although they can be changed instore it is highly unlikely that they would be - we stock over 20 thousand lines and our prices are different on only around 7 of them - all reduced to clear lines. With the buckeroo (and cranium if reduced - i havent even seen the thread let alone following it) as constantine has already explained there is something that the system can do whereby it sets the level of reduction based on stockholding and size of store...if you have high stocks then the reduction is higher, if low stocks then a low reduction. Again this process is automated and no store intervention is possible. This would explain the differences in price across varying stores. In our store the buckeroo was reduced to £1.46 i believe.Fight Poverty - Hit a tramp!

was offered the difference but pointed out the policy and so they gave the r&r but insisted that the items were non-returnable. thought it best not to make a scene so went with that.
turn on, tune in, checkout.
I had 2 today aswell, isn't it strange how they are selling in pairs at the moment. Got my refund from someone who looked remarkably like a bulldog chewing a wasp!:p

The colour of the label makes absolutely no difference in law, i could put the prices on pink and green labels if so desired, which pretty much renders the yellow label / white label argument null and void.(QUOTE]
You are missing the point the yellow stickers clearly show discount/intro/discontinued, and details of the reductions. The white stickers just show a single price, unless like yourself you have access to the price audit database, which on the whole most customers don't then a big sign saying 10% off mobile PAYG, means if single price has been shown then a further discount should apply, in whatever, law you want.
Where the correct price and conditions are displayed, which I have also seen then there is no entitlement to R&R, where white single price, with no other restrictions identified then 10% should be applied, if not R&R.Drat and Double Drat, curse that Mr T excuse for not giving me a refund.

Why are there so many of you on here then ?
Extra promotion brownie points, I never took you for a brown noser spa2k :rotfl: :rotfl:Drat and Double Drat, curse that Mr T excuse for not giving me a refund.

Is this re-emergence at the same time as mr dastardly's a co-incidence or is there some sort of sinister collusion between the two of you?:D

Do you reckon Spa2k?
The amount of BS excuses I've heard come out of some CS "company brown noses" mouths, I wouldn't put anything past some of them. IMO it would be a bit naive to think otherwise.Quotes in context only please.0
