Tesco misprice discussion area part 12

Wonder if anyone can help.....

Got an R&R on three packs of organic rump steaks this evening, total price was just under a tenner and didnt have a problem with the CSA, but i noticed that he made a note of the product barcode on a piece of paper and then also made a note of the penultimate 4 digits on the bottom of the receipt directly below the barcode.

eg 24/10/06 18:43 2585 008 1903 0867

So what i want to know is does anyone know what these 4 digits are about?

SORRY 306NOT OUT IT WAS ME!...No longer a R&R virgin it was my first go only has the bottle (pardon the pun) to buy 2 although they did try to refund me the difference.After pointing out the policy i read whilst being kept waiting for ages i pointed it out and was promptly given my £40 back...again apologies

I was in tesco heston today and I'm sure they had the MP3 player at £129 and I thought that was the correct price so I left it. So if anyones near have a look.

Must remember to take a list next time.

The penultimate number on the receipt is the cashier/till operator's number. That identifies the cashier who served you. The 2585, incidentally, is the store number.

Its the operator number. Although no heat should come down on the till operator as the problem was outside their control, its fairly standard to make a note of it when errors are made.

Hi i've been watching this site with interest for a while. I've done a few small r&rs but nothing of great value.

I tend to go to the same store every week because it's closer and the others are quite a trek, at first cs were lovely but lately when i go there's lots of whispering, dirty looks, and photocoping of my reciept etc.

Now my question is should i leave that store alone for a while and try somewhere new, or just brazen it out?

brazen it out for the small things, but i would go elsewhere for the bigger ones.
