Not sure if If this is coincidence but where I live I have about 6 stores within 15 miles of my home.
Lately the in store price check scanners seem to have be taken out or do not work, which leaves r&r a bit of a lucky dip.
I imagine these scanners are available due to the 'kindness' of Tesco (better customer service), are they mandatory at all i.e. is there any policy or trading standard issue as to why they have to make them available to us.

    Thanks

Shoreham by sea are having a huge extension at mo, today they had the philips MP3 player SEL at 129.97 but no stock!!! . Trying to bag a second!

But I also happened to notice that they were setting up new shelving and putting new point of sale on it, including brand new signs saying " If things dont add up...". I have never seen them around a store before but there were loads going up so I dont think the Refund policy is going to change anytime soon.

And they also had new price scanners with blue screens

in my local tonight I saw a tesco value iron with the sel of £167.99 covering another sel of £4.99 - no idea whats going on.
All champs & chocs/ filofaxs taken out of the boxes.

My local is VERY much on the ball.

I did get a refund on the peanuts when that was on & they never replaced the sel for at least 2wks.

What a fantastic thread! I'm so eager to get to Tesco now!!! Can someone tell me how to make sure I win my case.... what is the SEL? So far I gather I need to scan the item first (not sure if my store has these), then make sure the product is the same as the price on the shelf (is this the SEL?). :money:

The first page says it all. Go to the first post and read through it, you will learn a lot and save alot.

SEL = Shelf Edge Label. What you want is generally for the SEL to be lower than that it scans at. Then you should be charged the lower of the two and point out that you have been overcharged and you should get a R&R.

I hope that helps. You need to ask questions on the attched thread. This thread is purely for misprices and not discussion. http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=282043&highlight=misprice

hi !!!!!!, good to see you back (i think), towing the line isnt quite the way that i would put it, an alternative point of view is a better description.

    Have i joined the R&R community....nope, didnt even get a free xbox....

PS New motto: 'You can please all the R&Rers some of the time, you can please some of the R&Rers all of the time, but you can't please all of the R&Rers all of the time'

PPS Nah, I'll stick to 'Each to their own'...
