So what are the legallitys over customer service obtaining your photo from cctv?
i have done nothing wrong and nothing illegal, they took offence when i insisted there displayed r n r policy was enforced. As far as im aware you can only store moving image of people and to have a pic you must either receieve their consent or have suspicion they have broken the law. Is this true?? Any help would be appreciated

As far as I understand it, you are correct. The images can only be used for 'security'. However, the store is obliged to have a notice up somewhere informing the public that CCTV is being used in the store for this purpose.

The notice could also say that the CCTV is being used for 'market research' (customer flow and behaviour etc). In this case the customer has given permission by entering a store with such a notice displayed. I don't know if they would be on thin ice if a customer's image was stored purely for recognition though.

    Can anyone confirm this?

The SEL has printed on white instead of yellow paper. The price is correct, the colour is wrong. Those who have achieved an r & r on it have been lucky.

    Nonsense !

Another example of poor and misleading labelling

In that case, my argument will be the label is the wrong colour. Wish me luck. :D
I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!
  • right so to get this right finally if i find another example then i am to argue that the labelling is misleading and then claim RandR?

If you take the view that a label displaying the correct price is missleading, then go for it.

A lot of offers are ending today. It's probably to remind them which labels need removing.

These 'deals' end on 7/11/07, though. It's clearly because the price on the pack was higher than the SEL and someone couldn't be @rsed to reduce the pack prices manually.

This is not for the fainthearted, I did similar with the L6 which had not already had the discount taken off (a couple of weeks ago) had a lot of trouble in the store and head office had to intervene to get me a refund.
  • not faint hearted as such just wanted to get it straight before i went back

Well yes, because all the other labels (be they white or yellow) show the discounted price i.e. £120 crossed through new price with discount £108 (customer can see the discount has been applied. Also it isn't an introductory phone, as the label would also show this.
