even Constantine will whip the SEL away in the morning now

Hardly. There is nothing wrong with the SEL I have in place (and the disclaimers regarding introductry/discounted lines).

Aint given a phone away yet and don't intend to start - If I can't have one (and I would really like an L7!), no one else is getting one ;)

  • I have asked this twice in the past before but have never got a good responce. I figure it is best to post it now as it is early morning:

Can you R&R in the early hours after CS is closed? What if they sau come back in the morning? They could hide the misleading SELs bu then....
They say you can't put a value on life... but I live it at half price!

Copied (and edited down) from Mis-price thread....

Yes, I think anyone who has been R&Ring for any length of time has had this happen to them - has anybody ever asked to see the cctv footage as "someone is obviously tampering with your sels !"

I wonder what our resident Tesco managers would say/do if a customer did ask to see the footage - are customers allowed access, and how easy/quick is it to retrieve footage ?
Of course I assume that such underhand tactics wouldn't be needed in your stores, as you would rarely have wrong sels up......but what if a customer DID ask to see it ?

No, customers are not allowed access.

How quick and easy it is would depend on the system in place and the skill of the operator involved.

CCTV footage gets mentioned regulary in here. In my experience, the chances of the cameras picking up something like the removal of a SEL from a shelf are virtually zero, unless that mod happens to be directly under a fixed camera. And there is not that many of them.

No, you would need the CS desk to be open (most stores that is 8am to 11pm).

Get agreement from the duty manager about your overcharge.

I have had small R&Rs after the cs desk is closed - normally 10pm I find.
On the first occasion, I just pointed out the fact I had been overcharged to a member of staff who directed me to check out supervisor. Admittedly she did offer me the difference, but when I queried if this was really Tesco policy she quickly gave me the full refund, all the while claiming she didn't really know as she didn't do cs ;)
On another occasion a senior member of staff ( I assume ) who was emptying the tills/cashing up quite happily told the checkout staff to give me a full refund "as we have overcharged her" :T What a wonderful woman :D

I presume the larger amounts which need higher authority could be the ones they ask you to come back tomorrow for .

Possibly. More likely a lack of skill in the building in the small hours. Would depend a lot on the store.

  • The yellow sticker should be stuck over the original barcode on the product so it will scan at the sticker price.

In the post the guy was saying that the yellow sel was £10.37 and the sticker on the meat was reducing it to £10.87, from £12.87

    Still overcharge as sel 10.37

Also if the yellow sticker on the product doesn't cover the barcode and it scans from the old barcode on the product at the till, then once again overcharge as the price on the sticker is the cheapest price

    Hope this clarifies it

Morning to Little Miss Welsh who I met at Customer Services in Wrexham last night. Hope you enjoyed your free steak/chicken...
  • I would beg to differ about CS needing to be there for R&R. I had £26 R&R at 00.30 today. The muppet on the security camera got on the blower to the duty manager. He politely sorted the problem out for me. However he hadn't got a clue how to use the tills! No money in CS till, so refund was sorted there (they can only refund at certain tills) and gave me cash from another.
