  • This is a great thread so I thought I would give it a try and bought 2 packs of the sirloin steak. The shelf price showed reduced from £12.87 to £10.87 per kg but the price on the label was £10.37 a kg. The woman at customer services phoned her manager who told her that bacause I had not lost out they would not make a refund but would let me have one pack free.

I was not sure of the exact wording of their refund policy so I just accepted the refund on one of the packs. I don't think their policy is meant to work this way, does anyone know where I can find the wording of their refund policy, I could'nt find it on their website.

as In was leaving the store I looked at my receipt, she had'nt marked "refunded" on the receipt!!

Those are my favourite R+Rs, where they don't mark the receipt. It happens about 1 in 5 times in my experience. They're known as Golden R+Rs. It's like that feeling when you're playing on a fruit machine and get 3 gold bars in a row. You're not doing anything wrong in getting a second refund, as they'll only sell it on to someone else for the same amount they gave you.
  • i wish my local stores had scanners, cus i've seen the 6gb today at 149, but dont wanrt to go through the whole "forgot my wallet" business!
  • If there is no scanner just go to the clothing area and ask a freindly looking bod to check the price. I do it whenever i'm checking on beer etc. Always get it checked in a different area though. You can always take the player back after if it scans the same as the SEL price!
  • winner, might try that later

Also makes you wonder about statistics. If there are 9 known r&rers in an area who all visit the same 5 stores per week and get a modest amount r&red on each visit, is this not above average?

Constantine and Spa - is this an above average number of r&rs claimed in a week?

Dunno. Would depend on the size of the store.

The elite forums thing has been done to death before. A couple of times.
Who or what was I before you came in to my life
    I am not sure
  • I have just found Tesco's new refund policy on their website, it reads as follows:

    New refund policy

    Our Promise
    • If you are not happy with the quality of any of our products please bring them back within 28 days with your receipt and we will happily refund or replace the item.
    • If you change your mind within 28 days, we are happy to refund or exchange the product, providing you have your receipt and the product is returned as sold.

    Electrical and Entertainment
    • If you have a problem with any electrical products please ring our helpline for advice on 0845 6012549.
    • If you have a problem with any CD, Video, DVD or Computer Software we will be happy to exchange it for the same title providing you have your receipt.

And if things don't add up
    • In the unlikely event that we overcharge you we will give you your money back and you can keep the product.

This does not affect your statutory rights.

This seems to indicate that they will no longer give a refund if you are undercharged.

Try to find someone doing the home shopping and ask them to check it on their scanner, 'as there is no label on the shelf',;)
  • Hi Lurch, i tried that but i think they have been briefed recently........most won't do it now and say oh just ask at CS.

I dont think that you were given a refund for being under charged only if you were over charged. ;)
