sceptic peg opps mystic peg that was the old nick name for mystic meg, has a right to post on here and I agree that it isnt right for you to label ALL tesco employees as incompetent I know a few people that work in Tesco, infact the 2 people that live next door work there, my mates dad and my sisters friend all work there and enjoy talking about my actions in tesco.I, until recently was one of the "incompetant Tesco staff members" so do have first hand knowledge of what goes on in store. I still have close relatives who work there as well. My original post about incompetant staff was aimed at those who know full well that things are mispriced and do nothing about it. I have seen many examples of these in the past couple of weeks. I have now defected to another major supermarket and the things that go on in Tesco are far worse than where I am now. Tesco really do need to look at their polices and the way the stores operate.
The incompetent people dont all work in stores, they are the ones that come up with the offers like £10 off when you buy game and psp when the offer is only for game of the week and then dont say it is only on giga pack and value pack or the pringles and exclude the new 10% or 20% tubes whatever the guys in the stores just put the SEL's and posters out that they are given. Totally agreeI know Horwich were checking the offers on consoles after they discovered the initial error and the posters dont go up very quickly in there even now when there is no offer on them. They only do what they are told as it should be it is the price integrity but the stores dont have enough of them think how many different items are in stores and how often the prices change, it is a really hard thing to keep on top of I asume with so many changes when offers start and end.Which is where Tesco needs to take a good long hard look.
Now I no longer work for Tesco I have no qualms in availing myself of the r&r opportunities. I would, however, prefer to see them get the whole pricing system sorted to stop them consistently overcharging and leaving out of date sels up, or worse still, when you bring the misprice to staff attention they leave it in situ.0 -

I had one at the weekend over two pairs of black combats, priced £12 but going through at £13. not only was hse extremely apologetic but refunded me the £26 not the £20.80 I'd paid following the 20% off kids clothes promotion.
I offered to give her the rest back so that she maybe be nice to me next time and she said keep it!0 -
If Tescos don't try to trick people then why are basic essentials like milk & bread always at the rear of the store instead of the front?
It makes a mockery of disabled parking spaces & the convenience of just popping in on the way home from work for a pint of milk, even more so in the massive extra stores.0 -
I have frequented a wide area of Tesco over the past fortnight and not once have I encountered a difficult CS assistant. They have all ben wonderful, smiled, apologised and (with the exception of one) refunded me without prompting.0

I didnt say you had said people couldnt post but refering to mystic peg as a troll after 1 post saying that the misprice thread makes her job easy isnt really posting to cause arguments is it?
As for incomptent staff you should mention that some or not all are. taring them all as incompetent isnt on. Yes there are some staff that leave SEL's out in that case call TS and let them know or go back the following day and tell them you got the same thing yesterday and ask to speak to a manager if you feel so strong against Tesco stores overchargeing. Personally I enjoy stores giving me stuff for free.
As for the abuse that CS get you have to think they are there and pretty much everone that goes to them has some kind of problem and they want that person to fix the problem. I have seen a few abusive people at CS 1 bloke bought a DS game that was faulty, rather than return it for a replacement he went and bought another copy from another store and moaned when the store he returned the faulty one to would only replace. His language was terrible and he threw the game at the CSA saying keep it its no use to me and stormed off. he then came back and asked for it back.
If he had been smart he would have taken the replacement and returned it to the other store un opened and received a refund no problem I expect or at least a giftcard.0 -
Can anyone see Tescos pulling this policy in the near future?
I've only started R&Ring in the past 2 weeks, although i do remember the adverts with prunella scales so cant beleive i have left it this long just got a horrible feeling i've missed the boat.TESCO EVERY LITTLE change to the t&cs HELPS0 -

that sounds good a private group, if you hear of any be sure to let me know.
I have seen printed pages of mse being carried round in stores over the last few weeks more common than before. I had seen it two or 3 times in the past over in Great horton and stockport but more stores are now checking this site, my local stores have almost dried up and misprices has the sels removed before I get to them now that could be someone else has beaten me to it or the store sorted it out. I know there are alot of r+rers in this area. Wasnt it mcdonag that was contacting people on msn, I think that is a good route posting r+rs on here as hokers says makes it easy for the price integrity people to remove the sel's or items from sale.
i have had the same thing saw a print out from here on the cs desk one day.Another day another R&R
kindly sponsored by tescos.

Its not a trick though, its simple marketing, and its not just Tesco that do this, all shops do. For example, go into HMV/Virgin and they will always have their sale stuff or special offers at the front, so you have to walk through them to get to the general catalogue. And most clothing shops will have shoes at the back of the shopTitch0 -
troubled_buyer wrote:Hi,
There has been threads about the Motorola phone.
Without reading this thread I had seen the white SEL's and tried for R&R.
The first time the CS was on the ball and stated there was a problem, she went straight to a label station, swiped the bar code and without any intervention the correct yellow SEL printed showing 129 to 99 to 74.99.
That knoked me and I couldn't argue it good enough.
The second I managed to get past the CS, the department/section leader, the deputy manager and even got as far as 'I'll give you 10% off'. At this point I thought I'd won until we go back to the CS desk to find the Store Manager was on the phone about some unrelated matter. After that call the item was again swiped and another yellow SEL came off.
I'm starting to belive there setting this up to see if anybody is 'targeting' items for this policy, it seems odd that all the stores are having the wrong labels on the L7 but nothing else.
Had a problem with this today - manager said discount was already applied. I pointed out it wasnt shown on the label but he stated they did not by law have to label introductory or discounted items. Anyway I rang CS and they confirmed phone was already discounted, (prices as troubled payers post )so no R & R for me - took it back to another store and got refund.
I think the only way you will get this phone is if the CS staff agree it should be a yellow sel and give you the refund without calling a manager - as the cs desk lady agreed with me it should be a yellow sel. she was over ruled by manager.
Oh well you win some you loose some - awaiting next R & R offerThanks to everyone who posts comps :T0 -
hokers wrote:I think I'll plead the fifth on that question. But when we hear about Tesco staff going round with lists from here and correcting any errors, we're effectively doing their job for them.
I think that an "elite" group for solely sharing misprices could be good idea to stop Tesco employees from knowing what is mispriced, as a few people have seen staff with mse print outs. How do you decide who get's into your particular group/mailing list?
I think that there are quite a few people who post on here who have thought of the idea, or would like to join an existing "group" but on the other hand we all started somewhere and without this site, chances are a lot of people would know nothing about r&r. Poses a bit of a dilemma about what to do for the best.
Any thoughts?0
