Woohoo - i am no longer an R&R virgin.:rotfl: :j :rotfl:
Just been to Tesco in Stretford and bought 4 of the Sour Scream and Onion Pringles.
Took them to customer services all nervous and scared that they were going to tell me off or be awkward and the girl was fab. she went and checked and said 'yes you are right. As we have over charged you you get r&r'. So i didnt even have to say anything! I just played dumb grabbed the money and left!
Thanks to all who have posted this one. They will be enjoyed at our halloween party im sure!£2 Savers Club (started 26/09/06)£130

just had a right palaver at my local tescos.
bought 1 packet of the welsh sirloin steak(2 in pack) sel was £12.57 per kilo now £10.37 per kilo price on packet still at undiscounted price.
CS refused to r&r stating it was not a misprice as the price to pay was clearly labeled on the packet. spoke to manager who also said the same. I got the manager to sign the back of the reciept to say they refused me a r&r on these grounds.
phoned head office who told me that this is not really a misprice and it is MANAGERS DISCRETION on wether or not they will refund in this case !
as a gesture of goodwill they will refund me the purchase price BUT ONLY IN THE FORM OF A GIFT CARD SENT TO MY HOME ADDRESS!
can anyone shed any light on this new policy?
did get 2 packs of pringles r&r though.0 -

I got R&R last week on 2 packs of Irish Sirloin steak - Big SELs of £10.87 and packs marked as £12.87. No probs with R&R altho the CS lasy didnt utter two words to me when she came back from checking it out and she photocopied the packs of steak tooRe-embracing the Money Saving Way of Life after a little lapse!0 -

It's not at the manager's discretion. It's a nationwide policy. It clearly states that it is an overcharge if you are charged more than the sel or price on the pack. Seeing as the law is clear that when two prices are indicated, the lowest must be charged, the SEL is the price you should have paid, not the price on the pack. This includes SELs stating how much per kg you should pay for an item.In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

Hey_Dude wrote:Perhaps some balancing comments - more for the benefit of newbies rather than looking for an on-line debate with Leadhead.
The 'fiascos' - veterans will confirm that these come and go - I think that it's the case that some individual stores will be on the ball some weeks, and then slacken off for whatever reason.
There are also trends - some weeks games, some weeks CDs, some weeks meat - the only trend that I concur was a 'fiasco' was the console debacle.
IMHO the only change to attitudes and the like is the lack of BS received from CS staff in recent weeks - I've had smiles and grumps but almost consistently been offered R&Rs during this time-frame without any problems.
Now I'm not trying to make you bite Leadhead - this is for newbies - it would seem that by and large the banning orders and points deductions have been aimed at R&Rers who have been, umm, greedy - can't think of a better word - but don't want to offend - 'each to their own' is The Dude's motto.
If you R&R repeatedly for multiple purchases and trolley loads of goods - and in tandem raise your profile with complaints to Head Office - you increase your chances of coming into the Tesco Radar Zone.
Enough said.
I'm not sure about a 'cunning plan' - but I would recommend to anyone that using 'threats' to CS staff should only be a last resort and then only if you really want that XBOX or packet of Pringles.....
I would advise that you be polite and reasonable - 8 times out of 10 CS staff will respond in kind.
I don't feel the need to boast about how much I've R&Red over the years or how many extra clubpoints I've earned - it's not particularly relevant...
...what is relevant is that if you approach R&R in a reasonable fashion - aiming for goods that you really want - avoiding unresonable multiple purchases - adopting a low-key and reasonable approach - and knowing when it's appropriate to either walk away or stand your ground then you will be in this game - if you so wish - until the undetermined final whistle!
Duder
I almost agree totally with that Dude.
My comments were in response to previous posts by !!!!!! Dastardly which it appeared not only his posts were agressive, but also his handling of CS (without exception)....have you read them.
I aimed to point out that since he last RandRed 7 months ago....attitudes have changed and there may not be the necessity of aggression at the CS desk.
When i saw you had replied to one of my posts, I thought it was to a previous post where i commented on your views re use of Club and Credit cards.Couponing....."every little hurts"
Half of the people can be part right all of the time, Some of the people can be all right part of the time.
But all the people can't be all right all the time. .........I think Abraham Lincoln said that.

It was flipping hard work getting an R&R on a couple of cheese pringles today.
The CS brainwashed robot threw several excuses at me rangeing from "25% extra don't count" "that flavour don't count" and "you can only have the difference as its a different bar code to the normal cheesey pringles". And had to put up with a pair of old busy bodies in the CS queue, (no doubt wanting to prey at the Tesco's alter) giving me daggers, as I was holding the queue up daring to question Tesco's.
Well I stood my ground saying "the yellow SEL clearly says 2-4-2.30 and if you can show me where on the shelf the special 25% extra tube is supposed to live I'll walk away".
Obviously she could'nt full R&R thankyou.:TQuotes in context only please.0 -

FloFlo wrote:I always find the r&rs where you have to hand a case in to get an item awkward. When I have had r&r on a phone I waited until i was handed the phone and then pretended to notice it as she pointed out the guarantee. How did you say you noticed the overcharge?
Oh I don't, as soon as you have paid for the item then it is yours. You don't have to wait for them to bring you the item first before you mention the overcharge.
In fact I get great pleasure from giving them the empty case whilst telling them that I was overcharged on a phone for eg.
The looks on the CS faces knowing that I know that I am getting it for free and me knowing that they have to get the phone, pack it and then hand me the refund along with the phone, explain to me about the top up and guarantee etc, with a smile on their face,is priceless.
They hate it.

Not quite sure what this glitch is but, I was at the cs desk earlier and a guy was there with 2 x CSI Miami dvds. They had buy one get one free stickers on them and he was told at the till that he wasn't allowed to buy them.
CSA was telling the guy that they had noticed a problem earlier and they should have been removed from the shelves. She then went on to tell him about the quality street glitch and how the store manager had got in trouble for not noticing and that is why they had removed these, so I presume it is a similar glitch.0
