Does anyone shop at Tesco in Stretford??
Im new to this R&R thing (well im actually new to this whole way of money saving and still trying to get it all straight in my head) and i dont know if its just me or if this branch is just on the ball but i havent found any SEL and sticker misprices!?!?
Always fll my car up with r&r's from Stretford after a united game, so there are lots to find. Keep looking and read the misprices only thread and make a list. Just got back in fact. That's why I'm still awake now.

I have just done a download from my bank account and it says that I have had over £4,036 worth of refunds from Tesco since 07 August 2006 but I had some major refunds before that since starting to r&r on 10 July 2006.
The majority of my 9300 clubpoints are extra point purchases and I am yet to order online as I normally shop at Asda as they are cheaper.
The analysis of my 'real Tesco spend' against refunds, amounts to a total 'real spend' of £63.72!!! (Not including Petrol purchases.)
But having said that, my last "major" r&r was on 12 Oct 2006 for £86.00 and that was after a 3 week 'holiday' keeping my head down after the console debacle.
And there's me worrying that Tesco are on to me after bagging some champers today to take my 2006 total over the £400 mark.

We then had the games fiasco, the books fiasco, the meat fiasco , and the beer fiasco (i'm sure ive missed the odd one out)
In this time attitudes and methods have changed.
Some of us have been banned from local, some from area and some from all stores. Some of us have had lots of points deducted from clubcards. Some of us have had letters, asking us to do silly things like, asking managers if we can enter their stores.
What I'm getting at is, I think things have changed in the 7 months you havent RandRed.......so dont expect CS to be afraid of your threats(HO), or not to stand up to you......but causing a big stir now....isnt the done thing, (unless absolutely necessary)and is more likely to bring you a ban rather than your goods RandRed.
Read the thread......There are lots of comments from established RandRers on how non confrontational the CS staff and Managers are becoming.........All though there maybe a "cunning plan" a foot by HO......but thats another story.
Perhaps some balancing comments - more for the benefit of newbies rather than looking for an on-line debate with Leadhead.
The 'fiascos' - veterans will confirm that these come and go - I think that it's the case that some individual stores will be on the ball some weeks, and then slacken off for whatever reason.
There are also trends - some weeks games, some weeks CDs, some weeks meat - the only trend that I concur was a 'fiasco' was the console debacle.
IMHO the only change to attitudes and the like is the lack of BS received from CS staff in recent weeks - I've had smiles and grumps but almost consistently been offered R&Rs during this time-frame without any problems.
Now I'm not trying to make you bite Leadhead - this is for newbies - it would seem that by and large the banning orders and points deductions have been aimed at R&Rers who have been, umm, greedy - can't think of a better word - but don't want to offend - 'each to their own' is The Dude's motto.
If you R&R repeatedly for multiple purchases and trolley loads of goods - and in tandem raise your profile with complaints to Head Office - you increase your chances of coming into the Tesco Radar Zone.
Enough said.
I'm not sure about a 'cunning plan' - but I would recommend to anyone that using 'threats' to CS staff should only be a last resort and then only if you really want that XBOX or packet of Pringles.....
I would advise that you be polite and reasonable - 8 times out of 10 CS staff will respond in kind.
I don't feel the need to boast about how much I've R&Red over the years or how many extra clubpoints I've earned - it's not particularly relevant...
...what is relevant is that if you approach R&R in a reasonable fashion - aiming for goods that you really want - avoiding unresonable multiple purchases - adopting a low-key and reasonable approach - and knowing when it's appropriate to either walk away or stand your ground then you will be in this game - if you so wish - until the undetermined final whistle!

For instance, went in one day got some chicken breasts, made a point of saying to CS that it was not satisfactory and I expected it to be sorted when I visited again. Went back 2 days later, not sorted, cleared shelf, even told CS dealing with it that I had told them 2 days earlier, what can she say I have the receipt to prove it was OC 2 days ago, and they'd done nothing. This sort of slackness gets my gander up.
Thats great i love your style i'm still a r&r virgin but shall but hunting on my next trip. For thousands of people this Christmas, their must-have gift is far more vital than the latest gadget or toy – it’s blood. Please don’t let the festivities and cold weather prevent you from giving them the ultimate gift… give blood.0 -
Went in to my Tesco Extra yesterday armed with a few vouchers, thought I'd treat the family to a bit of Lamb for Sunday dinner. Went to get my two pack of Andrex bog roll (printable voucher makes them free) and to my horror I couldn't find any. I then noticed a yellow sel below the 4 packs of Andrex that expired on the 1/10........three bl**dy weeks ago. Scanned one and showed £1.83 as oppose to £1.81 on sel so I bagged 4 packets.
Spent just ove £20 but after passing across £8 in vouchers and getting my £7 odd back for the bog roll only spent a fiver.
Now to the point, the CS lady was the same bird who'd given me an R&R on some steak earlier in the week and she was ok. However yesterday she started saying things like 'people come in just to look for wrongly priced items' and wasn't as pleasant. Still got my R&R though. On reflection this really pees me off especially when the incorrect sel has been up for three weeks. I wish I'd had a go at her now to say that it's ok for you to overcharge everybody for three weeks then is it. I know they have because they always take the sel down when you spot one. I am determined in the future to have no pangs of guilt when carrying out an R&R because believe me they don't give a toss when they are ripping us off. CS should apologise not try and make snide comments.0 -
some simple rules are needed for the r+r virgins and greedy ones.
1. use cash only
2. do not use a clubcard.
3. always buy things like bread and milk and normal shopping items. this will look like u were doing a normal shop.
4. only buy 2 electrical goods max at a time. or 3 joints of meat or 3grocerey items max. this is what most normal shoppers would by in a weekly shop.
5. do not draw attention to your selves. IE. crouching on the floor next to a sel and looking at it real hard for 30 secs. the security guy will soon clock u. and think ur up to something.
6. find a young cashier. they are normally not bothered to look at stickers or price on items.
7. go-to stores at different times of day. but only r+r in that store once a month per shift.
8. when at c.s desk look confused asking could u do a price check for me as i think I've payed more than the label on the shelf or the sticker on the goods.
9. be aways polite and friendly to the c.s staff and management.
if u are refused a r+r on a phone or high price item and ur till receipt is unmarked go-to the next store around u. and get a normal refund. saying its not the one he wanted. remember phones and electrical items are covered by a 28 day no fuss return policy even if u have used it.
10. Treat r+r a game. like cat and mouse. whenthe c.s person only gives u the differance first. say" when i was waiting for u to check the label i noticed the board behind u ........and is it true that u will give me a full refund and i will get the goods for free?
If that don't work ask for the manager for any high price goods or just walk away for the next store down the road.
10 A...If u don't win the first time don't get angry. Get even at the next store down the road. NEVER THROW TANTRIONS ON THE SHOP FLOOR AS THIS WILL GIVE THE MANAGER THE EXCUSE TO BAN U. I've been warned by different managers with excuses like
" Ur not allowed to look at Ur till receipt until u have left my store." or
" Ur a professional shopper arnt u."
my reply once was to this was yes i do mystery shopping for certain company's. maybe i'm doing it now so u better be quite... never had trouble again when he spotted me at the c.s in the weeks later on
The worst thing that has happened to me was the manager had told the store c.s desk to look out for me when i entered his store. For 3 months as soon as i entered the door the tannoy would blare "deputy manger to c.s desk please".
Even been followed around by security and staff. even noticed the cameras following me around.
But i have not posted on here for 3 months and no r+r for the same time. but i back now and having a great time. only £257.87 this week in 5 stores.
11. BUT THOSE WHO GOT GREEDY WITH THE CONSOLES AND GOT WARNED OR BANNED. DON'T GET GREEDY AGAIN BUT BUY BUY SMALLER ITEMS IN STORE FARTHER AWAY.
HOW WOULD THEY KNOW ITS U. BY PAYING CASH AND NOT USEING UR CLUBCARD. U MAY SKIP THE TESCO RAIDAR.BUT BY BEING GREEDY AND DRAWING ATTION U WILL BE SOON RECONISED
12. IV NEVER BEEN BANNED YET. BUT THEN AGAIN I NEVER DRAW ATTION TO MYSELF.
TESCO R+R RAIDER. OTHERWISE KNOWN AS SEXY SARAH:rotfl: given up on tesco do a lot os boots offers. but weekends are now in orange trackside b. lol

These have not just all of a sudden just started. There has always been this type of fiasco. PC's, Mobile phones, XBOXs, PS2, games, etc, etc, etc. I got double figures mobile phones in a single day, and not the cheap ones either, £160 - £180 per item. All of the stuff you talk about in your mail has be on-going for a considerable time.Drat and Double Drat, curse that Mr T excuse for not giving me a refund.
EVERY LITTLE EXCUSE HELPS in trying to get out of the R&R policy when the law has been broken, especially on high value items.0 -

Chip - why have a go?
By the sounds of it you were polite & resonable and you got the R&R you wanted!
Absolutely no point having a rant if CS staff mutter when they give you your R&R - just walk on by, with your free goods, ready to R&R another day!
If you bite, you might be dealing with someone who will try and reel you in - keep the profile low and stay on the sure, steady and righteous path to long-term R&R success...
