I just posted this in the misprice section but just incase some of you don't read it -
    I found a new one today managed to get a Philips HDD1620 6GB MP3 Player :D
White sel £149.97 but it went through at something like £167.79.

CS girl was brilliant, another member of staff said they'd refund me the difference :rotfl: but i pointed out their policy... she called the manager to explain about the misprice which was £181 as i had a psp game too. He obviously said again to refund the difference but she said 'They know about our policy' :rotfl:
She said to the other lady at the till to take the SEL down as the manager wasn't happy.

She was brilliant & said 'you've had a good days shopping haven't you', i said yes & smiled :D

I always find the r&rs where you have to hand a case in to get an item awkward. When I have had r&r on a phone I waited until i was handed the phone and then pretended to notice it as she pointed out the guarantee. How did you say you noticed the overcharge?

We paid at the checkout, then hubby went to the counter to collect it.
I went back with him & said that i had just noticed we'd been overcharged :D

I had a huge :D on my face as i left the store.

I feel quite confident doing those kinda r&r's, its the meat that i always find awkward.

yeah agreee. meat r&r is awkward cuz they will go through the kilo, the lbs, everything with you and try to tell you that it wasnt mispriced, wrong label, different barcode, different size.. im bit sick of this. managed to get 6 tubs of pringles r&r juz now, dont think i am up for any electronic stuff though, i think im bit scared :)

  • Was this the lanson champagne? if not can you tell us all what we need to be looking out for..sel price/scn price etc.. plenty of different champagnes see.
    Cheers
  • Bought a PSP game which was stickered at £13.94. Charged £13.97 at the till so took it to Customer Service who only offered the 3p difference. Called the manager who agreed and said that the policy was purely discretionary and he would do it "if it was 3 or 4 pounds wrong but I'm not going to do it for 3p".

I've emailed CS and Sir terence to ask if it's true whether it's discretionary or not. If they say not I want my game, and if they say it is I'm off to trading standards....

So far today had replies from terry.leahy@tesco.com (yeah, bet he wrote that himself, haha), a customer service exec, and customer services themselves, none of whom have actually managed to answer the question in hand ("Is this policy discretionary or not?"). So I've asked them all again. Not gonna give up till I get an answer....
