  • What happened to non-use of clubcard and good old fashioned CASH on R&R trips ?? I thought this was just sensible practice, I virtually always pay cash, without clubcard, they don't know where I'm from what my name is or anything. Difficult to pin-point who you are if they can't id you, don't know your name, were you live, etc, etc
Drat and Double Drat, curse that Mr T excuse for not giving me a refund.

EVERY LITTLE EXCUSE HELPS in trying to get out of the R&R policy when the law has been broken, especially on high value items. :D

Gotta agree with the Dude, it's definately a long game, and as I say to the wife you've got pick your battles. When I started, not that long ago compared to some on here, I would R&R everything in sight, needed or not. I complain bitterly and make a scene at CS and so on, however I've since revised my approach for much better results. I now only get things I'll need or use, and I've most definately found that being polite and curteous reaps the greatest rewards. That would be my top tip. But as been said before each to there own, and good luck.

some simple rules are needed for the r+r virgins and greedy ones.

    Handy post - tip top.

I would only advise that unless you are/or have knowledge of Mystery Shopping that you should avoid pretending to be such at the CS desk - I don't think The Raider was encouraging such with her post but it could be misconstrued that way.

If you start to deceive at the CS desk - you'll probably end up with egg on your face!

Chip - why have a go?

By the sounds of it you were polite & resonable and you got the R&R you wanted!

Absolutely no point having a rant if CS staff mutter when they give you your R&R - just walk on by, with your free goods, ready to R&R another day!

If you bite, you might be dealing with someone who will try and reel you in - keep the profile low and stay on the sure, steady and righteous path to long-term R&R success...

    His Dudeness

To be fair I agree with you Dude and I always use the friendly approach. I just didn't like her having a dig. I think it was the 3 week out of sel that hit me, I could have had a polite dig on the fact that I was the first person to complain, and that it would still have been there had I not.
But agreed no point in biting the hand that feeds you.
  • but i do mystry shopping for macdonalds ,bp, shell, spar kfc. pizzahut, dominoes, londis shops and well know garage companys and also the odd leading supermarket. so i know about mystry shopping. but as the dude said dont do what i said to that duty manager. unless some of the staff who work in tesco know that u do mystry shopping. the c.s person knew i did it as i had mentioned in the past before i spotted this thread and started doing r+r .

    Dude

There's not a lot to know about mystery shopping. It's basically a case of being very observant and being able to write objective and truthful reports on what you've seen/experienced. One thing to remember, though, is that mystery shoppers are not supposed to reveal that they are mystery shoppers to ANYBODY.

Security still following me in my local store so I just buy my little bits and pieces, happy in the knowledge that the r&r's I accidentally put in the trolley next to my own have wandered through courtesy of my unknown to store sister!!!

    :rotfl: :rotfl:

I haven't personally done any for a while now and won't until I visit a store out of my area - no point overdoing it and getting banned.
  • Have we lost the r&r misprice board again ... ??

    I can't find it anywhere ??

this was posted on the mis price thread by BFG

''Here's a one that has worked for me.

Showing in all stores I visited...Motorola SLVR L7 - (the black one). The white SEL says £74.97 and this is what you get charged. However....

There is a 10% off promo on ALL PAYG mobiles; all the mobs (except the SLVR) have a yellow SEL showing the previous price crossed out and the 'current price' (inc the 10% off). This is what they have to do to show that the price includes the 10% off.

THe SLVR has only a white SEL with no crossed out previous price - so that indicates the price pre-10% off.

There is a disclaimer in the 10% off flyer that basically says 'excludes introductory offers and discontinued lines'; - however the SLVR is not marked as falling into either category (again there are yellow SELs on those affected).

The reality is that the SLVR should have a Yellow 'Discontinued' SEL but for some reason stores haven't put it out.

It needs a good argument to stand any chance of getting R&R on this - basically along the lines of

    1. It's not marked as Introductory or Discontinued, so 10% off should apply
    2. Since it doesn't show the previous price and the new 'after 10% off' price (as per all the yellow SELs), the price shown should be considered the 'pre-offer' price and should be subject to 10% off

You also need a bit of a brass neck (and other body parts)!!!!!!!!!!

Good luck (it worked for me). ''

I tried this one at one of my local Tescos and at the till after I had paid I queried it with the assistant, she said that the 10% didnt come off because I hadnt spent £40 ???. So I went to customer services to enquire. It took them ages to look into it but came back with a yellow SEL which had not been put out with a price higher than the £74.97 then discounted to £74.97. I really didnt feel comfortable pushing it any further but as the OP of this possible R & R stated you need balls to go for this one :o
