  • Keep it up Brighton Belle! I have to admit I do have tough days when the back plays up and I just want to curl up with a big box of chocolates on the sofa. I've managed to stop myself so far only cos I've done so well on celeb slim and don't want to mess it up now.

Sounds lovely betty, larking about in the snow. I'm sure walking in snow burns up more calories:D

I've had amazing success with the meal replacement diet I'm doing but I guess different things work for different people. I don't have the time to prepare calorie counted meals and I think if you trust the brand you can leave in their capable hands and go about your business. I'm doing celebrity slim and it's easy and actually works. I have a really good balanced meal in the evening with the family and plenty of healthy snacks between meals.

it works in that you loose weight

it fails in that you are at a high risk of loosing lean muscle mass and it fails completely in that it does not teach you anything about healthy eating and where you were going wrong

im sorry thats just an excuse and you are only kidding yourself with this and your talking to the master of excuses, someone who was super super morbidly obese, a guy who made just about every contestant on the biggest loser look small :( Everyone can find the extra 5 mins you just have to want to.

we need to get people to stop saying i want to loose weight and to correctly say "I WANT TO LOOSE BODY FAT"

A programme on BBC2 yesterday evening 'The Foods that make Billions' included a comment, towards the end, to the effect that many people are now 'scared' of tackling foods 'in the raw'. So much of what we eat now has been processed, packaged, advertised etc that there is a feeling we shouldn't 'cook from scratch', or that people have forgotten how to.

We have just had a baked potato plus baked beans followed by a satsuma. Quick, easy, nutritious. How hard is that?

I'm afraid the Celebrity Slim and the like appear to me a bit too similar to 'meals on wheels'.

Reminds me of something Gizzie Erskine said on 'Cook yourself thin' - people often pour a jar of sauce over pasta and think it is 'cooking from scratch' when really it's packed full of sugar and salt and you can make it yourself really from scratch so easily!

It will be a long time before I have the ability to make my own baked beans from scratch! As for pasta with sauce, I don't do it.
