  • Well I have had a little relevation today ........ It is my Mum's birthday this week so she has requested than we have a family portrait done as the last one was for her 25th wedding anniversary roughly 20 yrs ago  So today me and OH had to go clothes shopping for something to wear......... So I have now offically gone down 5 Dress sizes!! I tried on a jumper dress that I thought was not going to go near me with a barge pole and got the shock of my life when it not only fitted but looked pretty good too :j

I also picked up some even smaller jeans and some leggings to wear with my dress. My calf's have also got smaller as my knee high boots from last year I can now get my hand down the side of them when last year when I brought them it was a strain to get them done up.

I still think I need someone like Gok to come and shop with me as I don't know what suits my new body shape and I need to try and get out of the jeans and sweat shirt look that I have had for over 20 yrs :o

Vixarooni - Well done on the Job ....... are you going to take it ? Have I missed a post ??? How's the head now ?

Victory - Sorry you are going through so much at the moment, Try not to let the B****d's get you down

Puddings - Good luck with the 34 day challenge. If you have to trousers you want to get into hang them somewhere you can see them most of the time. Then when ever you feel like being naughty the trousers will remind you of what you need to do :D Worked for me on more than one occasion ;)

well done alliwantistosave. I agree with the Gok comment - it is hard to re-educate yourself on how to dress when you change 5 dress sizes - a good problem to have though!!! Well done for a successful 2010. Are you near your goal?

Thank you for your kind words. I would really like to loose another 9lb before the end of the year if at all possible. But the past 3 weeks have been a little slow on the loss front :( So I will have to try a little harder if I am to reach my goal.

You seem to be doing really well too. Do you have a goal in mind ?

i love dressing people!! I love doing my mum, i just grab grab grab and make her try on. Have you thought about a personal shopper at a department store? Theyre nearly all free and can help you with ideas if nothing else.

Yea i probably will go for the job, i just hope my operation doesnt clash like i know it will do, it would be just my luck after waiting 8 years to finally go back to the doctor, and 2 years after my degree that they'll meet together.

hi all, sorry to barge in.

I would like to join you all on your journey as i am very overweight and unhappy about it. I have about 6 stone to lose:mad:

So far i have been unsuccessful due to the caving in of chocolate, pop and crisps. i am moving out of my mums in 2 weeks time, which i also think will help as she is soooo bad at bringing chocolate into the house which makes me cave in again. im hoping to lose at least 2 and a half stone before my next birthday (august).

so any help, tips or motivation would be greatly appreciated.:)

I'm aware that I've got lazy recently and have caved in to far too many pies and chocolates, so time to refresh my enthusiasm! It's no wonder that the weight loss has ground to a stop.
It's 34 days to Christmas. So that's going to be 34 days with not a single slip from the diet plan. 34x 4mile dog walks(no more "its raining" excuses allowed!)
and 34x 600 steps climbed (if I dont get them all finished during the day then I'll make myself carry on into the evening or night until they're finished)Hitwithstick.gif

I'm making two goals for christmas day: 1)get to 25 stone 2)fit into a certain pair of trousers.

Has anybody got any other suggestions how I might up my game over the next few weeks?? something suitable for an extremely fat person, ideally that I can do at home/work whilst waiting for the phone to ring over an hopur or two and ideally that doesn't cost anything? All ideas appreciated :-)

we need to find a way to address your emotional eating and your ongoing physical addictions, it worries me that unaddressed you will end up back where you started :(

I was thinking of getting one of those balls Eric, do you know if there is a weight limit for them? And how do you inflate them? I am guessing a bicycle pump?

puds your posts come across as defeated, fed up, despairing, it does not have to be that way, you can be who you want to be, sure it is going to be super tough and nothing in life worth having is not but we are all here for you, stop torturing yourself, start loving yourself, you are a great person with a bubbly friendly happy personality shining through and people on here appreciate you and your posts and your quips and your pics, stop running yourself down because you are the only one that is doing that, we all value you for you, big or small, tall or short, you are you and that is that, take yourself as you and work on that;)

Hi Mandz - welcome to the gang - have you got a plan, weight watchers? slimming world? calorie counting? You're moving out of your mums, and into where? If its on your own then you can have more control over what food comes into the house, but if youre sharing, then it may just be a case of frying pan and fire... Slowly and steady is the way to go :-) Tell us whats motivating you, then if in the future you have a bad patch we can remind you about it.

Eric - under 300 is absolutely amazing, well done and thanks very much for your comments as well. Theres really no need to worry about me ever going back up to 30 stone again... it won't happen - ever! Like I said Ive got a bit lazy recently, not just on the exercise front but also with planning the weeks meals (been doing it in my head rather than writing it down - and I do need to write it down and put it on the fridge door). The emotional eating, I'm working on it. Have already figured out that some of the more frequent triggers are being thirsty, being cold, being angry and as a reward for being successful. Im sure there are others too.

I'm a bit surprised that my posts come accross as fed up, defeated and despairing, because (most of the time) I dont feel that way. I think I do take myself as I am, my personality and everything about me has "evolved" from 30 years of being huge. Being this size is what I'm used to, its like I'm in my comfort zone, losing half my weight will definitley take me to a place that I'm not familiar with, almost like I will lose my uniqueness and become "average". I'm losing the weight not because I want to but because, for my health, I have to. I feel that I'll be sacrificing a big part of my personality in exchange for better health, I can't think of any other reason why my posts might come accross as if I'm fed up?
