Lose Weight 31

Morning all,
Weekend was ok - but not brilliant. Did eat a 100g bar of galaxy (yum) and had a few drinks on Saturday night, but I managed quite a bit of walking on Saturday and got my 5 portions of fruit n veg each day.
I feel quite positive still though, feel like I'm making healthy changes part of my life, rather than 'dieting'!! It feels normal to pick up a piece of fruit mid morning to snack on instead of a bag of crisps or biscuits. I've also started cooking a lot more from scratch (partly thanks to this cooking course I'm on at the mo). So even if it's apple crumble, that is still a portion of fruit and veg, I use sweetner instead of sugar and margarine instead of butter. Got to be better for me than some horrendously chocolatey shop bought dessert which I would have got before.
Weigh in tomorrow though, am going to be interested to see whether I've managed to lose anything this week doing this. I am not expecting miracles, as I'm not following a strict diet, but I want to lose the weight slowly and in a less stressful way! Got about 5 stone to lose and want to actually be able to keep it off this time!!
Right goals for today - 5 portions of fruit and veg - 30 mins on wii fit (still finding this goal the hardest - getting time to do it around the boys is hard and I'm too knackered once they go to bed!!) - make soup for lunch and fajitas for dinner (yum!).
Have a good day all,

BB I know what you mean about SW being something you have to do 100% of not at all. Otherwise like you say you will just eat loads of food and not lose any weight!!
At the mo I am sticking to the principles (lots of fruit and veg and very little fat and sugar) but I am doing portion control as well as that is something I really need to work on. so it's basically common sense! plus some exercise (tho i skipped swimming today as I have a bit of a cold)
My aim, and this might seem weird, is to leave a little bit at the end of every meal. I dont want to have a 'clean plate' mentality as that's what is making me overeat, especially when i accidentally make too much pasta! so if I can train myself to eat till I'm full and not till it's all gone then hopefully that will help.
Eric congrats on getting to that milestone :T
that burger cake picture made me gag! LolBetty B: The Eternal Procrastinator....
Why Put Off Until Tomorrow What You Can Do Today? :A0 -

Wowers Eric, well done thats brilliant news!
Im dreading the scales this week after not being very strict on myself and also having a heavy weekend. Though I did a lot of dancing so I'm hoping thats burned some of the booze off!
Oddly though Im quite positive about the week ahead and am going to buy sensible lunchtime food, normally after a blow-out I'd just buy any old thing but I'm glad I'm focused.0 -
Wow Eric , brilliant news - You are not only doing so well yourself but also encouraging all of us- a big thank you for that too.:beer:Don't forget smiling

oh vicki if you think living with parents is hard then try sharing your home with two strangers! Having lodgers is easy money but constantly having to "queue" for everything that you want to use (eg. computer, tv, washing machine, kitchen, bathroom , even the kettle) well it gets a real pain in the @r$£. Been sharing for 15 years and putting up with other peoples mess dont ever get less annoying I agree that its amazing what little things arguments can be based on though... for example the pushbike thats been stuck in my living room for the last three weeks grr!
:O you don't treat your computer in the same regards as your toothbrush? as in, if you use it and aren't me, you will die in your sleep? you're a guy too!
I live with 5 other guys, and have no issues really, but we all get a long, have similar tastes in TV etc. House is a tip, standard, but it builds up your immune system, innit.
Friday and staturday were bad days, 3 pints Friday night (light night compared to normal) pizza takeaway, but I did go for the smallest :P and than Saturday included full tube of pringles, not good. A lot less than what I would normally consume, but bit disappointed.
Got friends 21st coming up this week, going to be hard to resist the peer pressure (which is immense living with 5 other guys).
Also got stupid amount of work to get done this week, going to be in the library till early hours tonight, Wednesday and Thursday methinks so no gym, must stop making excuses.
Well done Eric, shinning example to all those who claim seriously big people are only big because of their genes, and there is nothing they can do about it.0 -
i was just listening to radio 2 and a woman talking about women in post birth condition and it got me thinking about the image i want and what is possible when your 47 and a male!-we too get that pouch which comes with age and lack of exercise-i got to a bmi of just under 23 and looked too skinny but i still retained a belly. i have stabilised at 23,5ish now and think my belly must be my concession to age!mfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.0
