Alliwant - congratulations! Your amazing loss this year is incredible, and all down to you, and you alone. It is strange how losing weight can completely change your appearance. I lost a lot of weight in my early 20's, and when I met people I'd not seen since leaving school, they couldn't always be convinced it was really me. It was also quite a good disguise if you didn't want to talk to someone. I'm hoping to have something similar again next year, once I've shifted my weight, at last.

As for your shoulder, whilst waiting for the physio appt., try taking a high dose of cod liver oil capsules, I take 2000mg a day, as suggested by my BF, because I damaged my shoulder last year when doing some heavy lifting. It was waking me up in the night, and really painful. Within a few days, I had lost a lot of the pain, and am now pretty much pain-free. I'd put it down to old age not allowing the injury to heal quickly enough, but I think it was partly injury, and partly old age! I now have free movement of the joint without any discomfort. I'd never have believed it, had I not done it myself. BF swears by them, because he has a lot of aches due to injuries he's had in bike crashes, and from poor form at the gym.
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home

Don't put yourself down, wanttobefree! You lost more than half a pound. If you juststick to that you'll be more than 26lbs lighter by the end of the year. Well done you!!

Thank you for encouraging me Grannynise. I was a bit annoyed this morning but you and eric thought me to look into my weight losing issue differently.

Hopefully better results next week though. :p

I ate special K for breakfast and dinner, and had a sandwich imbetween and a couple of bananas or something and drank a lot of skinny water and it really helped! I lost a lot of weight, a couple of stone in a short space of time ...

...You shouldn't put too much pressure on your diet, I tried slimfast and atkins, and it didn't seem to work..
Hi Hollie and welcome to the thread.
It's interesting to hear about all the different diet plans that people are trying. Looking at what you say you had in a typical day, I reckon it comes to between 900 and 1000 calories, so in my opinion that's why you were losing weight, not because of special k in particular or the skinny water. I agree with you about not putting too much pressure on your diet by the way.

If skinny water is £1 a bottle then if it was me, I think I'd keep the money in my pocket, or better still it will pay for a monthly gym membership.
I hope I dont sound too critical, because theres no right or wrong way to lose weight, but i do believe there are hard and easy ways to lose it, and i'm convinced that small meals evenly spaced throughout the whole day is a much easier way than filling up at breakfast and then being hungry in the evening.
Take care and keep posting :-)

Yeah I have to say it is what I wanted to happen. But when I started to loose weight this year I never expected it to happen it in 2010 it was my goal for 2011

Congratulations AllIWantToSave - that must be a truly fantastic feeling. Are you being weighed at your drs then? I think my drs offer something like that, but I'm a bit scared of a very stern matronly like nurse telling me off!!

No I have done it all myself and it was because the last time they weighed me at the doctors was about 7 years ago when I first went there to register. So it was mainly to get my record up to date. Also my surgery doesn't offer this service as I asked in January went I went to ask for help.

Thanks Sary I know it was all down to me but I am still finding it hard to come to terms with being smaller.I already take Cod Liver Oil 1000mg and glucosamine 1000mg a day due to a knee injury (skiing again ) so do you think I should try taking 2 cod liver oil tab's instead ? I will try anything to stop me taking pain killers :(

  • Beanie - personal statements: ghastly and stressful. Nuff said.
Many thanks as ever for the chart Fred:T

Thanks betty and sary for the porridge info. And well done on the loss Sary: a great start considering you were doing it blind.
Yes, the raw veg smoothies are suiting me. It would be nice to think it's doing me good inside, even if it isn't showing on the outside.

Sary, sounds like SW has really caught your imagination and fired you up. I do think planning ahead is the key. I found the 1st 3 weeks the book never left my side. But it does gradually all fall into place.

I found with the fairly sedentry life I lead, I could only have about 8 syns a day to lose weight after the first few weeks.

Post 15 on the 1st page of the current sw thread is funny and well worth a read re how syns can creep in

Betty - I wonder if sw is the right thing for you at the moment: it perhaps doesn't suit your life style? It isn't a plan you can do for a few days becasue then it just becomes eating too much: Alternatively, it works best if you can really plan ahead so you always have plenty of food you enjoy to fill you up.

I've been tweeking my eating a little as I seem to be very close to eating as per sw EE anyway. I couldn't never 'get' EE before as a committed original day person. But now I have given up dairy and bread and potatoes, then only haing 1 HEA +B a day seems easy.
Sorry if what I have just said is unintelligible for non sw'ers:D

All I want: fantastic. No longer Obese WOW! What a huge gift to yourself and your joints and heart:T:T. In the midst of such a difficult time for you, I hope this has given you a lift
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once
