Hi Eric, so how many lbs on average is that per week, over 4? Well done. do you find will power hard or easy?0

Put me down for a 4lb LOSS please Fred
Don't ask how that happened, I had fish and chips the night I fainted (Friday) and a Big mac on Sunday. I'm liking this diet or more correctly its liking me as I'm putting very little effort in and getting maximum results (weyhey!)

hmm its just under 4, however i dropped 33 in the first 3 weeks, and the larger you are the higher your BMR so you loose weight faster.
In reality I also lost 10 weeks from where I could not exercise because of my heart condition
Honestly I need very little will power, the first 2-3 weeks where tough as i detoxed myself from processed food and carbs but 95% of the time I am not hungry.
Controlling your carbs / insulin is critical to this IMO
oh and my spin bike turned up this afternoon wooohooo no idea where i am going to put it lol0 -
people left right and centre are coming up to me and saying how different i look, even the girl in the bank :rotfl:I have had 5 of them today alone ..
one of the dappy ladies at work said to me "have you changed your hair, something about you looks very different"
yeah i dropped 190 lbs of blubber0 -

That one cup of rice must weigh a set amount in mg or oz but they don't need that translation as they will just work in cups.
I use the 1/8th cup to measure out my porridge. 1 scoop of porridge oats and 2 scoups of water makes a small bowl. Double up if ravenous. Weight wise, it is 23g per scoup. BUt I don't need to weigh that every day. I just know that scoup is the right size fror portion control.
Anything that you can pour, or scoup would be fine. My set of cups has about 6 or more in it, all different sizes. But I didn't know they had different 'whole cup' sizes for diff ingredients. I just assumed they used the 1 cup, 1/2 cup, 1/4 cup sized cups like I have in my set.
Thanks Victory and mazza -pretty impressed myself:A:D
Glad people are noticing Eric:T:T
Hope the sw meeting went well Sary.

thats fantastic eric, well done
Sorry ive not been posting much this week. Fred, I've gained +1lb. After a really out of control weekend, i had an interim weigh in on monday morning at which point i was up by 7lbs :-( So to finish on just 1 up, in comparison isnt too bad.
Will try and get on here more next week again, and torment you all with my infantile northern humour again :-)0 -
Evening all,
Delamo - if you look on Nigella's website, she has a conversion page for all weights & measures, so cups in ml & grams/ounces
BB - That raw veg is definitely working wonders for you. I only wish you were feeling much better in other respects. Sorry I missed your question about SW EE, yes, you can have 28g of porridge oats as part of your HEB, I have 250ml semi-skimmed milk for my other HEA. In the EE booklet I got, it also suggests 28g of honey nut shredded wheat, or bitesize shredded wheat. Others on the SW thread have fruit & fibre, or allbran. This morning I had a delightful bowl of muller yogurt, jumbo oats, and strawberries, and it was like having a pudding, not a breakfast! Really yummy. I may try the suggestion of the pudding rice cooked in water, then mixed into a vanilla muller lite, which apparently tastes like a pot of rice pudding...ooh with a sprinkle of cinnamon on top, that could well be a little bowl of heaven methinks?

Margaretclare - I'm so glad you have found a solution to what seemed to be an eternal dilemma. Great results.
Well, I am now a fully enrolled SW girlie, and my boy is doing his bit too. It is all taking a bit of getting used to, and double-checking, but I must say that the support on the MSE thread for SW has been invaluable. Now I have my pin number, I can get fully into the SW site and find out syn values and also some yummy recipes. Tonight we had honey glazed pork chops and it was absolutely yummy.
Glad to report a 2lb loss this week, which isn't bad going as it's TOTM and up until Monday I was doing it 'blind'. I'm concerned My syns aren't as high as they should be, so will allow myself some more tomorrow to balance things out for the week.
Puddings - great damage limitation. Will look forward to your northern banter when you return.
Beanie - my son said much the same about having to do his own statements.
Eric - that woman at work must be blind if she can't see more of a difference in you than possibly your hair! How stupid can you get?
Well done to the losers and STS's, and if this week wasn't so good for you, make tomorrow your Day 1, and let's start again with good intentions from there.
My target for the coming week is to get my butt off this chair and moving more. One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Delamo - I just had another quick thought too. You could make your own cup measurements. Weigh out the ingredients you want in a plastic glass (like the sort you get in s/mkts for parties) and make a line with a marker pen where that measure is. Then you have your own tailor-made set of cups. You could have different cups for different foods, like one for rice, another for flour, different ones for various cereals, etc.
BB - I have also worked out what cup size I can use for my porridge, and it's the same one. It saves having to measure out stuff each time, although my little cheap set of flat-bed scales have been invaluable for getting my boys to weigh out their cereals, because they were over-loading their bowls, especially those awful free football bowls that Victory mentioned a while back.
The SW meeting was very friendly and welcoming, and my son thoroughly enjoyed it. He really seems to have picked up the system of doing EE, and is writing out his own food diary. There was another girl there near to his age, and a girl who is in her late teens. The ladies all swooned over him, saying how gorgeous he looks (which he does), so he got lots of attention. He likes the HiFi bars, and is having one for his breakfast, along with a bowl of fresh fruit. I think he's a bit disappointed today that he couldn't have an egg & bacon roll, which fits nicely into the plan, and only pizza was left to eat. I've reassured him that just counting it in is a big step in the right direction, and the rest of his day's food was healthy. One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing
