I use the app all the time too.

Thing that disappoints me is that loads of common things aren't on the system with the points. I know you can add in the nutrition information but it kind of puts me off bothering sometimes. For example John West light lunches are dead handy and obviously aimed at the the diet market yet every type of John west item is on their except the light lunches.

I find a lot of the apps are written for the American market. I wonder if this is why some of the products arn't on the WW app? They might have that product over there but called someting different?

Probably the best thing she's got is a willing friend! Clear the house of rubbish foods and don't buy any more in. Will power can be amazingly helpful if you've got it. Focus on shorter term goals like dropping a size or getting back into a pair of jeans. Don't give up after blips dust yourself down and carry on.

First, here's a site that is very helpful - it has helped me a lot: https://www.weightlossresources.co.uk

Second, from my experience and from what I've seen, heard and read since being on this weight loss journey:

Many people get the idea that they must lose weight for a particular occasion - Christmas, a wedding (to get into a particular dress), or in your friend's case, a holiday. Many people have unrealistic expectations of what can be done and no knowledge or understanding of how their bodies work. Many, therefore, are doomed to disappointment because it just does not happen as quickly as they expect. Even worse, having lost weight for a particular occasion - a holiday etc - they then slip back into old ways and put it all back, which leaves them even worse than they were before.

Alli contains orlistat (xenical), a prescription medication, which can have disastrous and embarrassing results. Not something I would want to try!

    There are no 'quick fixes'.

Swimming is excellent exercise, you use every muscle that you possess. Any exercise will only work if you enjoy it and get something out of it. Otherwise it is just punishment and will do nothing for you, weight loss or otherwise.

The people on here are very supportive and helpful.
