The bank statement's coming this week and that's when i'll know if I'm in deep squat. Can't see how being shaken a million times will help though?

hehe maybe it'll shake all the loose change out of your pockets?! :rotfl:

well done victory sounds like you have had a good first week with slimming world (feels wrong to write 'SW' now that there's a user called it! dont want to confuse ppl!!) Fingers crossed for you for weigh in.

Jan the 11th 2007, 1 week on WW googling recipes, hints and tips off the internet like a maniac, weekly weigh in lost 0, was frozen in pain, kept re-reading my food diaries, looking at what I had drunk, what exercise I had done, the astonishment that it had not worked was palpable.

After the 1st week I lost on average 4lb a week, 1 stone a month for 7 months until July, then the last half stone took ages right up to October to shift but shift it did because the determination was super strong. 105lb lost or 7 1/2 stone.

Gained xmas lost it, gained easter lost it, that kind of thing, if I gained I went back to WW more determined than ever and lost the hoiday weight or the xmas weight and it came off every time.

Jan 24th 2011, 1 week on SW, following it to the letter with equal determination and concentration as WW was always given and I have lost absolutely nothing, nada, rien, zilch, not an ounce, not gained but have not lost one single little bit.

I have cooked off SW website from scratch, bought in loads of bits to be prepared to make a recipe, no excuse not to have the ingredients, I have weighed my 28g cereal, used my syns, upped my walking, had lovely fresh SW meals that the whole family have enjoyed, had loads of fruit and masses of veg, followed it to the letter, turned down fish and chips on saturday and the offer of a chinese out on sunday wanting it to see the whole week through with the honest full knowledge I had done everything sary, betty, the website, the constant re reading of the books said, the hints, tips, tricks, read it all, every night coming up with a different recipe.

    I LOST NOTHING

victory - sorry to hear you've not seen a loss this week.

First off, at least you didnt gain, and it gave you the strength to turn down the takeaways you know would not be good for you, and the chance to make some lovely fresh food and new recipes that your family really enjoyed.

However, since the same happened with WW in 2007 perhaps that is just the nature of your body's reaction to a new diet. Sounds to me that your body has a delayed reaction to these changes - it takes some people longer to see an initial result, especially if you have a history of dieting (the 'shock factor' that makes people lose loads in the first week does not occur in people who's bodies are 'used to' diets)

The same goes for me and gains, if I have a bad week I wont see the damage on the scales till the week after.

    Dont be disheartened.
I would say give it another week and you will prob see a good result x

  • Hello All,

Having weighted myself on Saturday morning on the Wii Fit, nude so no cheating, I found myself to be 10st 11lbs, so I've lost 3lbs!!
I'm very pleased and hope I can keep it off and not put it down to fluke! I've decided to only weigh myself on a Saturday morning naked to ensure continuity. Belly does look a bit flatter...I best watch this space! :)

    Exercise Log for yesterday:
Medium intensity workout on EA Active (30mins) mostly working the upper body. One 10min Solution BOBF workout. Interval walked/jogged to the shops. Burned approx 230kcal.

    Food Diary for yesterday:
Breakfast - 1 scrambled egg, baked beans, one pork and apple sausage, 1 slice wholegrain toast (nimble sized). Coffee
Lunch - 3 ryvitas with spread and Boursin light, 1 can WW tuna in 1000 island dressing, 1 Hartley jelly (less than 10kcal)
Dinner - WW tuna pasta bake, 2 veg fingers, broccolli.
Snacks - salted popcorn, hot chocolate, 1/2 a protein bar (post workout)

I think I did bloody terribly this weekend. I ate a good 2/3rds of a regular sized bag of salted popcorn over two days, plus grilled chicken steak and noodles on Friday at Noodle Time, with not a veg in sight! The shame :o Not even to mention sausages on Saturday for dinner. And boursin light? What was i thinking? I might as well have eaten lard. I need to curb my intake at weekends, as i do so good during the week and it seems a waste to spoil the work.

Oh and I'm feeling in such a better mood. Life is crap at the moment but the only way is up and I've already wasted two days of my life bring miserable that I'll never get back again. Now everyones going clubbing tonight, but I told mum I wasn't because we're going to London tomorrow but now I want to!! Argh!
