Any advice on the belly flab I hate so much ?
so many factors affect what you can and can not do such as physical capability's and injury's etc, it really is best to see a trainer if your new to it
the best general strength building exercises are compound exercises, ie ones that use as much of the body as possible in one movement, and ideally you need to be doing 8-10 reps to failure
http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/david34.htm
technique is critical as is warming up and stretching and working up to your max weight over time, hence a trainer is ideal, however if you like to read bodybuilding.com has all the info and excellent forums
as for belly flab, it is impossible to target areas for fat reduction (apart from with surgery) you just have to loose the excess fat, i just cant seam to shift my "apron"0 -
I'm normally not too bad with willpower so I would give anything a go!
try to stick to around 100g of carbs a day for 3 weeks and make sure there slow release carbs where you can, replace them with protein and healthy fats / oils
under 60 is best

I find it really difficult some days to eat 1200 calories without going over the fat levels I should have and decided what ever I ate to get the calories in would up my fat levels
But why did I end up eating chocolate? I'm sure I kept within the calories - my weigh in tomorrow morning will tell the truth, but I'm not expecting much of a loss
1200 cals is extremely low, are you quite small?
how much fat are you eating, it should be 30-40% of your diet0 -
I know I do, I am not agrophobic:rotfl::rotfl:
Crumbs the BL USA is on and Gillian was very in the face of one of the contestants on and on she went to get out of her what was lurking inside what her emotions were why she kept it all in, crumbs talk about over the top:eek:

thanks beanie, thanks betty, it will def be ok, theyre going to scan it and then my gp will tell me ive got fatty liver disease, i rarely drink much booze so its not a concerning ailment, not more serious than any of my other organs being layered with lard just the same.
Cheers. Hope youre feeling better tomorrow :-)
gl my ickle puds
and it cant be as bad as the angiogram i had this year

I've tried to go through this thread but it's so long I am now confused! I have been healthy eating since New Year. OH has lost 8lbs and I have put on 5lbs so I am not at all happy. I thought about joining WW to see how the pro points (?) work either online via Quidco or in person at a meeting although that doesn't really appeal to me but may be more helpful to make me understand?? Then I had a leaflet through re SW and now I can't work out what to do. I would like to lose a stone in the next four weeks if possible although after the last couple of weeks I'm feeling really down about it all. Sorry for long message but I suppose what I am trying to say is do you all do WW or SW on here or your own eating regime please? Thank you for your help:). Oh I am female as the name shows and over 50 but under 60 and 5'8"

Hi Eric,
I'm 5ft. The calorie controlled diet that I am following suggests the following
1200 calories
150 gram Carb
60 gram Protein
40 gram Fat
13.3 Sat Fat
300 mg Chol
2400 mg Sodium
25 gram Fibre
30 gram Sugar
On a normal day I tend to go slightly over the fat/sfat level and struggle to reach the protein level. My main sources of protein are eggs, cheese, nuts, quorn mince and pieces. You may have gathered I am a vegetarian. I struggle with beans as they play havoc with my digestion.

Hi Fred
Please put me down for a 1lb loss this week
Disappointing, but I tend to do well in alternate weeks when I diet so it's not too much of a surpriseNot Rachmaninov

erm, yeah they were obviously getting mixed up between kent and essex
Oi! watch it......
Well done vix and frog for ur losses, and victory for STS
STS for me too please fred. Bit annoyed, but then thinking about it I have been sneaking syns when I know I shouldn't...
This week I'm going to have to be 100% to see a decent loss next weds.
Unfortunately I am fine when I control my food - I eat carefully and plan my meals - but when I see people for meals it's usually at someone else's house and there is very little control over the menu.
I suppose all I can do is make sure i'm 100% on plan when I can be, so that there is some damage limitation.Betty B: The Eternal Procrastinator....
