Mazza - real doodoo about your knee:mad: Not sure where you are at re possible 'retirement'.
I've never had black pudding - have I lived a sheltered life? I adore hogs pussing which is a west country 'delicacy'.
Betty - great to see you 'in the zone'. You are going to shift that weight:T:T
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

BB don't try any in Brighton. It's something u southerners just can't do, is make a decent black pudding! Have asked for another referral to ATOS. Manager finally overheard me talking about it to my union rep and colleague who's been off sick. And asked if it really was a medical condition

Princess - Apologies for the lack of warm welcome, blame pain and drugs!!! Welcome aboard.

Sary - Something as simple as walking down a steep staircase at the dentist surgery yesterday with the wee man. I hate stairs!

Really not doing well since before xmas with this weight loss, knee is giving me pain most days now. Worse when it goes out like it did yesterday. Went to pottery class last night and even that was a disaster, ended up scooping the lot off the wheel and putting it all away, I wasn't even capable of throwing a tantrum never mind a pot :rotfl:

How much was the power plate lolly?

It was really cheap, £49.99 with £4.99 postage from Amazon. http://www.amazon.co.uk/CONFIDENCE-POWER-TWIST-VIBRATION-TRAINING/dp/B003U6RI74/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=sports&qid=1295038259&sr=8-2

It's not as powerful as other ones, although I'd rather save the money and just spend a bit longer on it than I would on other machines. The actual plate also twists, which most others don't. I'm not sure what the twist action actually achieves... but it sounds impressive!

its just the southerners! attempt at haggis ;-)

    but black pudding, delicious!
If a sausage made from pigs blood and fat isnt enough on its own to get you salivating then how about coating it in batter and deep frying it too.
mmm, wonderful. and only 1,000,000 calories per ring

serving suggestion: sandwich between two slices of fried bread and cover liberally with mustard!

beanie im slightly alarmed that the part of that which you find most distressing is not the pigs blood and fat, not the batter or the deep frying, not the two slices of fried bread that theyre sandwiched between.... but the mustard!
Suppose its only like someone complaining that the ketchup sachet in a pot noodle isnt organic ketchup!

Indeed, below a certain size (dependent on your height or frame), if you do a lot of gym work, then weight becomes a less useful measure (for men at least) and can actually become a counter-productive measure. I do the same as David Katz who runs a research centre on obesity. I do 20 pull-ups and on the basis of how hard I find it, I know what my strength-to-weight ratio is like. it's fairly rare I weight myself.

    interesting idea

i am working on actual % body fat with a goal of 20% which is supposed to be in the healthy range. Periodically i visit a bodpod to get it checked but i still weigh myself week to week to give me a guide.
