1/2 lb is a respectable loss say for a smaller lady close to goal
Indeed, below a certain size (dependent on your height or frame), if you do a lot of gym work, then weight becomes a less useful measure (for men at least) and can actually become a counter-productive measure. I do the same as David Katz who runs a research centre on obesity. I do 20 pull-ups and on the basis of how hard I find it, I know what my strength-to-weight ratio is like. it's fairly rare I weight myself.0 -
I've also booked my fist power plate session at the gym on Sunday, so once i've been I'll let you know what its like. Has anyone else tried it?
I've done it! It is quite fun! doesn't hurt until the next day when you'll really ache!!
made me feel reeeeallllly sick after tho, all shaken up. couldn't stomach any dinner (guess that helps the weight loss too, lol!!)
Victory am I right in remembering you asking about SW syns in subways??? I have a food directory with subways syns in now - let me know your usual favourite and i'll try to work it out for you!!Betty B: The Eternal Procrastinator....

Hi Everyone!I do the same as David Katz who runs a research centre on obesity. I do 20 pull-ups and on the basis of how hard I find it, I know what my strength-to-weight ratio is like. it's fairly rare I weight myself.
That's an interesting idea, I'd never thought of testing the strength to weight ratio. I don't think I'd try it myself though as I'd be all weight and no strength, lol. I never could do pull ups!I've also booked my fist power plate session at the gym on Sunday, so once i've been I'll let you know what its like. Has anyone else tried it?
I haven't tried it, but I have ordered one so would be very interested to know how you go on with it.I've done it! It is quite fun! doesn't hurt until the next day when you'll really ache!!

It sounds very interesting!
Well today was an OK ish day. Ate reasonably healthily although it was one of those days when nothing fills me so over did the calories a little. My total cals came to 1834 . It's been quite a busy day again though so I'm hoping I've burnt a few of them off. Will try to get on my bike later, just need to find a little energy first!0 -
Whats the strength to weight ratio? Seems right up my alley.0

I'm aiming to get to a BMI of about 22 so got about 13kg to go. I've recently been slacking quite a bit exercise wise, so hoping to get some motivation to continue. I want to be a size 10 or so by the summer, so hoping to get there.
Hi Princess - i dont know why everybody else has ignored you today! im sure its an oversight rather than something personal - or do they know something i dont know!!??;)
Anyway, welcome to the weight loss gang :-)
If you've already shifted 19kg with only 13kg to go then youre already doing really well. How long has it taken to get rid of the 19kg?
There are people on here doing slimming world, some doing weight watchers and some just doing it the traditional way. Whatever your plan, theres help and support here whenever you need it.
What sort of exercise do you tend to do?
