a bit mean is a good thing on mse!sarymclary wrote: »You can definitely do that. It does seem a bit mean, but as you pay a joining fee, as well as your first class you are paying for the pack effectively
The value frozen mixed Sainsburys berries - I'm glad you mentioned them - low cal and what a bargain! very nice to mix into bowls of sugar free jelly :-)

Wetherspoons... doh!
If you like a cheap meal out that's not loaded with deep fried stuff then maybe try crown carveries. I usually get Turkey, a couple of boiled spuds and an enormous mountain of veg. Its normally £3.69, but if thats too expensive then during Jan theyre letting you have it for £2.99 (need to print one voucher off for each person dining - theyre available from their facebook page)
Its still probably cheaper to cook from scratch if youve a family of 6 but for lonely old me its definitely as cheap to eat there compared to cooking at home, loads more convenient and without all the washing up too!
Wahoo! Laurent you're a beauty!0 -
I now have a starting weight which I will PMto Freds.

Oops sorry BB - Misread that lol. I would have been annoyed after 10 mins tbh. And would have suggested that the management look at staffing levels. But I'm a cheeky cow that way. Shame about the Ship St PO. It was one that always got thru the qs rather fast.
Really can't think of where the DO is in North Street. I wasn't a postie back then (thank god with all the hills!!!) and never had the need to visit. Is North Street the one that runs up from RBOS at the old steine up to Churchill Square and beyond, the DO being beyond? Damn I hate when the memory goes and you can't remember anything :rotfl:4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -

My mistake - I meant North Road, which runs parallel to North st(which is the one you remember) but 2 road further inland.
Yeah, I wasn't chuffed at 1/2 an hour, but no point taking it out in the staff.
Well done beanie for braving the scales:T.
Think I might give southern stunners numbers a boost as I seem to be losing a bit at the mo. I will PM fred.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
Errrr,
If I was at a WW meeting I'd be the bloke at the back all embarrassed and hoping no-one notices me there.
I thought I'd go public on my plan to lose some weight. I'm 6'1", 247lb and probably a B cup
. My BMI has me at 32.
Some of the target weights I've seen seem utterly ridiculous like 11st12. I can remember being that weight and people would comment on how unhealthy I looked! I think 15st7 will be my initial target and see where that leaves me.
I graduate in June at age 38 and I hope to have achieved close to that loss by then so I don't look like Mr Blobby in a gown. That is my motivation. I managed to get my weight down to 16st just over a year ago but boredom/loneliness and Finals got the better of me.
I've joined WW online as can't face the meetings but will see how it goes. Been on the Wii Fit tonight so a start has been made :rotfl:
I think I should shuffle back into the dark corner now but thought I should at least say hello!
mark
Hey mark, and welcome! I read the first line and thought, "oh my god, who introduces themselves and divulges their cup size" Then i realised :rotfl: Funny though!! Good luck on your weight loss journey! Is it on now?!
Im sure a couple of weeks ago you said you werent going to do regular weigh ins, wish you'd make your mind up! You're on and off like a [STRIKE]catsuit on a night out[/STRIKE] erm, [STRIKE]cat on a handbag[/STRIKE] oh whats that expression, oh yeah... Lightbulb
;)
ps. Hi Prudent - welcome to the gang :-)
pps. I was once whacked in the stunners and I can tell you... it bloody hurt!
hahahahahahaha!! Well im not going to weigh in regers.....but i might? ha. And in my case its definatly cat on a handbag!
Anyway, i'll do anything to beat a northerner, im quite competitive on the sly...ish.0 -
Hi Everyone!
Well I'm well and truly back on the wagon after my little chocolate incident earlier, lol.
Thanks for the advice Sary, it's a good idea, and your comment...sarymclary wrote: »They're not exactly bargain offers, if the end result makes you unhappy with yourself...
really made me see things in a new light. I think I'm finding it hard as I'm torn between 'moneysaving' and 'dieting', although I know that dieting is more important at the moment. I'm lucky to have found such lovely people to help me along the way!
Well today ended up going well as I'm under target, although I did have a session on the exercise bike which brought it down a bit.
Breakfast - Cereal with a chopped up apple
Snack - Muller light, 4 chocs
Lunch - jacket potato with spinach and ham salad,
Snack - Dried fruit and nuts from Graze Box
Dinner - Spaghetti carbonara (from a packet mix, with Fry Light and ham instead of oil and bacon -I also had extra mushrooms, as DS wouldn't eat his!), and a pear.
I am now well and truly stuffed! I've not made spaghetti for a while so made just under the recommended amount, although there was still a little too much. I'll definitely have it again as it's really filling and doesn't have that many calories. My total for food came to 1613, and I burnt 300 cals on the bike, so that makes a grand total of 1313 cals for the day!
I'm actually suprised at how well I'm adjusting to this dieting lark, I can see myself having a few stumbles along the way but I now believe that I can stick to it. Yay! :T0 -
Hi Lolly
I can relate on the battle between money saving & the need for healthy food.
As I have said many times here & RL most of the supermarket offers are not on healthy food.
The money saving battle for me(& many others I guess) is becoming more & more important.
There are no easy answers thats for sure.
The added thing for me of having little energy certainly doesent help.

I have that problem too, however it does help me to stop overeating - for example I can't eat all the biscuits cos i can't afford another packet! :rotfl:I think I'm finding it hard as I'm torn between 'moneysaving' and 'dieting'Betty B: The Eternal Procrastinator....
