    Afternoon all.

Nice to see your feeling better Rachel :j , what exactly is tadka dhal? cant say I have heard of it. Hope the rugby rugby goes ok today.

Knee feeling ok, very 'tight' sensation, but Im driving and getting about, would like to say Physio helped yesterday, but it didnt, it was more a 'can you bend it this way and that'. The knee was not touched! I might start going back in the gym and see if I can do some upper body work, getting frustrated and worried about the weight :(

MissMoneyPenny, now what was your favourite Abba song? Im guessing at Fernando :) Not sure what happened to Dave though.

Lois weather in MK looking at 8-10 degrees, clear according to the bbc website. Poached egg sounds good, might have to do that tomorrow morning.

Well done madurai on your loss, good on you, you hoping to lose again next week?

Loopy the outlaws eh! enough to make you, well, er, loopy :) :rotfl: I guess its just a case of suck it for now, do you try and explain to the OH about how you feel?

Sorry to hear about the sad loss of the goldfish Honey, amazed the little ones havent noticed, when you expect them to notice they dont! :)

Right back to the rugby (england just scored  ), then back into own later to pick up my children, then onto my parents for dinner.

    Have a good evening all.

OH knows exactly how i feel but like he says it isnt often & he has to see my parents all the time (big sigh) he's gone out with them now & i'm going to do some baking with DD so things are better :o he also promised to bring me back a nice bottle of wine :p

and yes, it is very much a case of loopy by name loopy by nature in this house !! ;)
  • awww, poor loopy. It's hard having your space invaded. I hope things are going okay for you and you are enjoying the baking. Glad to hear Suggs is feeling better too.

I'm having a DISASTROUS week now - and before yesterday, itwas all going so well! I bought a new belt from Tesco in amedium which was ace, OH liked his birthday present which was a huge relief - I bought him an MP3 player months ago - MSE reasons of course! He has spent the intervening month posting on hs blog about how much he hates people with ipods. Fortunately he has now posted an entry announcing the destruction of his principles. We had 2 nights out planned so I planned my syns with clockwork precision and all was good. Until last night.

When I put petrol in my new diesel car.

by the time the aa came out to rescue me and i had spent all night sucking petrol out ofhte tank using the hosepipe I was a t breaking point and needed something to take the taste away. That something turned out to be a pepperoni pizzafrom the pizza shop. So a squillion syns there. Up side is car seems to be running okay.

Anyone know how many syns in the approximate litre of petrol I must have drank last night?
  • Hello everyone:hello:
I'm bored and trying to avoid the Kitchen!!! Had a very busy and tiring morning so had a very saintly poached eggs on toast for my lunch --- However that wasnt quite hitting the spot so had a bag of very low fat crisps (2 syns)but that just got me on the nibbling mindset and followed it with a very yummy bag of mcoys crisps that ive just worked out are 9 syns  That dosent leave many points for wine or dinner tonight. I have already defrosted mince so probably will do chilli and rice.

I've been off plan the last few days and havent even wrote what I been eating down, so started again today and have messed up already, it's only 5pm and I just feel like eating, so keeping my hands busy typing instead.

Husband has gone out to play football and my daughter has a friend over and they are watching a DVD, My other daughters out bowling with her boyfriend so I'm here alone in the dining room babbling on and on to the computer screen. I'm off to check out Jens wedding website link and daydream a bit - I broke my leg :rotfl: yes really!!! 5 days before my wedding day and had to have a wet weekend in Stratford!! in a wheelchair:rotfl:(18years ago) we keep saying we'll plan a lovley getaway on our 25th Anniversary so 7years to get saving.

Oops!! I'm glad the car feels better now, but I can't imagine how many syns in a couple of pints of petrol :rotfl: Thank goodness for the AA!

JollyJ boredom is a diet killer. If you're having a bit of 'me' time, how about a nice bubbly bath and a bit of a pamper. It'll keep you away from the kitchen at least.
I like the sound of your silver wedding plans.
DH and I didn't get much of a honeymoon, and when the 25th came round, our 3 kids put together and secretly organised for us to have a week in a pine lodge in the middle of a forest in Devon. The weather was fab and it was sooooo romantic (better than the original honeymoon)

Loopy will be thinking of you while you're suffering with the in-laws. Mine did the decent thing a while ago and passed on.................ooh, isn't that awful and I don't really mean it, honestly. I was very fond of MIL and was very sad when she died, FIL was a very different story ;)

Suggs glad you're keeping on keeping on (so to speak). Did they give you any idea how long it would take to get back to fully fit?

MMPenny you lucky thing - I would love to actually see a kingfisher. I've seen pictures of course, but it's not the same.
I didn't see the bit about the scales :rotfl: so can't comment!
Bet Suggs was wrong - I'm guessing "Dancing Queen"???????

Rachel, Honey's right, only the original Oats so Simple is a HEB I'm afraid. I love porridge, it's so warming and filling. Unfortunately I was brought up on porridge made with Carnation milk and golden syrup (which is why I've been slimming ever since perhaps).

Madauri I get coffee headaches too, but it's when I stop drinking it. I have recently stopped drinking it, and it took about a week to stop getting daily headaches and I have finally decided to cut coffee out altogether.

The weather is absolutely foul and awful today. I've been out with my daughters this afternoon for the first fitting of the youngest one's wedding dress and elder one's bridesmaid dress. It was lovely while we were in there, but could hardly see across the road for the rain by the time we came out. I'm glad to be at home with the curtains drawn and the heating turned up a notch. I'm always glad on nights like this that I don't have an urge to go out enjoying myself :D

Have a lovely weekend everyone, keep warm!
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

Suggs - the rugby was a disaster for England - wonder what'll happen to Robinson now? On the other hand Wales won (I can't believe I'm typing this!) could have been better though, too many changes. Well done to Scotland and Ireland too - both winning! Ireland beating south Africa is definitely a result!

Honey - thanks for the info on the porridge - very disappointed - will have one to try and then pass the rest of the sachets on to OH - let him get fatter not me!

By the way Tadka Dhal is like a lentil curry slop - really nice though - I think it was 1.65 and in the chilled bit of Sainsburys - just had it for tea with rice and am quite full.

Loopy - everyone thinks I'm a right grumpy old bu**er but I hate the OH's relatives staying too! Completely disrupts the routine and feels like my teeth are grinding the whole time they are here!

Had a lovely lowfat dinner. Tagliatella with spinach, mange tout, baby corn and salmon on top. I had some left over sweet potato and red pepper soup in the freezer so I defrosted that and reduced it with some onion and a little red chilli to serve as a sauce over it. All free cos I used the salmon as a Healthy extra :A

Pity I ruined it by having a bowl of custard for afters. Its sooooo cold here, DS wanted it to warm him up and I just had to have some too :o

Did I mention that my mum fell and has broken her wrist. She is going to be in plaster for up to 8 weeks so looks like DH and I are doing Christmas dinner for everyone. I dont mind really, except there are 11 of us now to cook for

Has anyone planned how they are going to ear/drink/be merry over Christmas?? I know Consultant mentioned it a few weeks ago.
  • Hi all

Been getting the moneysavingexpert newsletter for it seems like forever, but only just tonight joined the forum to have a gripe about DFS.

I am on a diet so thought I'd add a quick post. Have lost 4 stone on the Cambridge diet I am now weaning myself back onto real food and hoping to lose the last few pounds. Then of course I will want to develop long term eating habits and lose other long term eating habits to maintain my new bod.

My husband has done the diet too and lost a similar amount and so we have been able to support each other.

I'm interested in joining ediets in a few weeks as a maintenance plan, anyone else? How do you find it?

    Just thought I'd say hi.
