    Hello all

Well been on SW for a week and have lost 8lb in my first week. Bit worried as i was ill on monday and only had porridge yesterday as i was in bed all day and got weighed today. Did tell them i had been poorly and she said that should of slowed my weight loss down as i wasnt eating!!!Sounded odd what do you think???
Dont get me wrong overjoyed but have got a long way to go....

Bloomin heck Kimmie, thats fantastic for your first week. Well done :T

She is right when she says your weight loss will slow down if you dont eat enough - your body thinks that it is being starved and holds onto what it has therefore preventing you from losing. Definately by eating more of the right things a bigger weight loss will be achieved. Sadly I only have a small appetite (not for chocolate tho!) and my weight loss is slow. I am slowly re-training myself to eat every meal - often I miss several out when DH is working. I hope you are feeling better now.

Welcome to fivemice and congratulations on the birth of your little one! I think you should take your time losing weight just for now, your body needs to recover from giving birth and still needs to cope with the demands of breastfeeding. You are more than welcome on here but please dont push yourself too much - you need all your strength at the minute ;) You need to make sure you are getting enough calories - why dont you just start by cutting out all the naughty things and maybe increase your exercise by taking your little one for long walks - fresh air might make him/her sleep!!!! Consultant will be able to help you out more, I'm sure she will be along in a bit. Good luck though!!

Jolly Jules - well done. Thats almost half a stone already - you go girl :T :T

just a quick post before I take the dog out - been to SW WI and put on half a pound. Not too bad considering Mum and sister have been here for 3 days and it's my "star" week.
Will try really hard this week to shift 1.5 lbs.
Hello to all the new guys!

Hi honey... that's all I am doing at the moment - making sure I'm getting more than my five portions of fruit & veg an cutting down on fat & sugar. Not up to walking just yet, but my 2yr old provides more than enough exercise for now

I had a prolem with my pelvis throughout my pregnancy which meant I was practically housebound, so with no exercise for the last 9 months, plus the very unwise eating for two, I have 3st12lb to lose

Will be losing it nice and slowly though - I did WW after my first son was born and that affected my milk supply even though I was having my 8 extra points per day, so will be taking it easy, but this weight definitely has to go. I'm normally a size ten but my size 18 jeans are currently too tight :o

Give it time and you will do it. Rather than look at the total amount you have to lose why not break it down and say, work on 1/2 stone at a time. Its more motivational that way too! Just think, you have a lovely baby to account for that excess weight - it went on, and it can come off again too!

Excellent result Kimmie, and well done on choosing the Options over chocolate even at that ungodly hour (I didn't know there were two 4 o'clocks in a day :rotfl: )

Honey hope your heating gets cracking soon, though I must say it's been really mild here today, in fact I left my jacket in the car this morning when I popped out for milk. The last time our boiler broke down, it was Christmas Eve (about 5 years ago) and all the places where we could get spare parts were closed for the full 12 days to January 2nd.
It wasn't much fun, though we have an open fire in one room, so everybody huddled in there and resisted the urge to go to the loo until it was impossible to resist any longer, lol. It makes you tough though :rotfl:

Well done JollyJules on your weight loss :j

Rachel don't worry about ½lb on, it's probably fluid retention with it being your star week. It'll drop off next week no doubt :D

Well, I'm off for an early night. I've to be up early in the morning for a training course.

Have a good evening everyone! Bye now

Its freezing - kids have gone to bed in PJ's and dressing gowns and I'm huddled by the fire. In all honesty if DH was here he would probably tell you it wasnt cold at all but I do feel the cold terribly - even in mid summer :o
The only plus side to it is that I havent eaten anythig since dinner time cos once you go out of the lounge its freezing :rotfl: Being in an old house, with little insulation doesnt help matters! As you say though, it'll harden me!! (i'd never make the army :rotfl: )

Off to bed too, catch you all tomorrow.
