All the best for next week JenIttels, I hope I read your message correctly, it is next week isnt it?
I leave on the 18th so closer to 2 weeks and the wedding is on the 21st. Glad your knee is on the mend!
C31 It's with OH's work which is grand as they're paying for loads. Wish I could get those sort of opportunities where I work but his will do
Rachel I'm impressed with your will power too, especially as you even had the 50p all ready to go!
Have a good weekend everyone (it's sweet potato and parsnip soup this weekend I think.0 -
Hi all! Half way through 1st week & don't think i'm doing too badly. Trying to resist hopping on scales.
Have to eat on the run sometimes & am a fan of Pret a Manger so have looked up calories in some of their stuff & printed off a copy of the saintlier foods to keep in my bag. For those of you who diet the calorie way, you may be interested:

Evening all - it's quiet on here, where is everyone?
Thanks for the calorie values for Pret a Manger Jeanniebeanie - I'm quite surprised by them, if I was calorie counting 300 calories would be quite reasonable for lunch and those fillings sound yummy! I rarely eat sandwiches for lunch but bought some for a colleague when I popped out to Tesco's today - he had a triple pack with three different meat based fillings for £2.30 and I was very tempted to have one myself until I checked out the calories and fat content!
JenI - good to hear you will still be checking in to the thread when you've moved to Las Vegas, it'll be great to hear about your experiences of life on the other side of the pond! The wedding sounds like it will be great. Will you still be there in spring 2008? That's when DH and I are planning to go - we're still saving as you can see from my signature! It will take a long time if I rely on saving £2 coins, so fortunately we're building up the fund in other ways too.
I wonder where Dellybelly has got to - she hasn't posted much recently. Maybe her OH has been fiddling with the PC again!
I hope everyone has had a good week - enjoy the weekend.

Had a really bad day with food yesterday - what you may call a flexible syn day!
Whole bottle of wine and a twix! About 45 syns in total I think!!!
Will start again in earnest today I promise - I'm up really early -5am- with a dehydrated feeling (due to the wine, when will I learn?) and a bit of a headache.
Will see if having a bit of another lie down helps!0 -
morning everybody.
I must be the only one who, instead of getting hangovers from alcohol excess, gets headaches from coffee excess.
Oh, anyway. I've lost one pound this week. If I am extremely good I can make it through to next week and even lose another one instead of gaining or even maintaining.
Doesn't feel so difficult at the moment. I have lost my hunger somewhere this week.
Thanks for the suggestions, jeannieb, the list gave me some ideas for next week's packed lunches. If I bother to have more than a Cup-a-soup.
At any rate, I promise to be extra careful this week with my dinners and make them proper.'They can tak' oour lives but they cannae tak' oour troousers!'The Nac Mac Feegle0 -
Hi Madauri - no, you're not the only one who gets a hangover without drinking any alcohol! I've frequently volunteered to be the driver when we go out, mainly because if I drink I only ever have a couple and I can enjoy myself sober, but, on many occasions I've woken up the next day feeling hungover. And it's usually when I've been drinking diet cola, so the caffiene may be to blame - that, the late night, and the smoky atmosphere!
Well done on your pound off. I'm doing a marvelous job of maintaining again at the moment, which would be ok if I didn't want to lose anymore, but I do.
Yesterday wasn't a good day - I had a meeting that went on well past lunchtime, then instead of having a proper lunch I just had a cup of soup and some fruit, and I was so hungry by the time I got home that I was nibbling on dried fruit while I was cooking the evening meal, which took the edge off my appetite so I didn't eat it all, then spent the evening feeling hungry and picking again! Luckily I didn't go mad on wine as well or I might have really done some damage.
New day today - I've had poached eggs on toast for breakfast and I've got plenty to do to keep me occupied. DH is working today and I've got work to catch up on at home and I need to go through my home intray, make sure I've paid bills, and then do my filing, which is mounting up. That'll leave tomorrow free to go for a walk, so I'm hoping for a nice autumnal day (no rain!).
Have a good day everyone.

Took the dog to the park and then went shopping - bought some yummy low syn stuff at M&S - cabbage and spring onion mash (proper comfort food and only 4.5 syns for the whole pack) and choc mousse (4 syns but may save until tomorrow) amongst others.
Also got some tadka dhal from sainsburys and rice - will only be 1.5 syns for the lot - that's tea sorted!
Bought fruit and veg too for the week so not all treat food.
Also got some Quaker Oats so simple raspberry flavour to try - I've never had porridge before so not sure about it but am also confused about whether its a healthy extra or not? Anyone know? May be a good change for lunch in work in the cold weather?
Off to stuff my face and do a bit of tidying before the rugby!
Am officially feeling better now!0 -
Rachel, as far as I know only the original oats so simple is a healthy extra b.
The dahl and the rice sounds lovely - what was is exactly and I may nip into Sainsbury's later. Sounds like a yummy dinner!!
Its rotten here today, wet and windy. Have to go to Belfast for a few things later, tidied up all morning so house is spick and span. We had a bereavement (sp) this morning. Charlie, the 2 week old goldfish passed away. DS and DD dont seem too fussed - thankfully!! Took DD to see Dora the Explorer last night, she loved it!! Bought DS tickets for Christmas to see the xfactor tour in Belfast next year - I can't wait!!!!! Sad, aren't I :rotfl:
Well Done Madauri :T Lois, I think I am stuck in the same maintaining rut as you. Its driving me nuts :mad:0 -
Welcome to all the newbies. Did Dave come back?
That boot really helped. After a minor hiccup on Tuesday (a cheese and bacon savoury roll), I have stuck to the WW No Count which I have found really easy so far. I have to use the scales every morning to remind myself to be good - sorry consultant.
Windy here, but as least it means the farmers can't spray, so I can get on with walking. I have seen the Kingfisher twice this week:j My oldie dog was a bit poorly during the week and my walking dropped to about 5/6 miles a day. So I bought the ABBA No 1 CD and bounced about on the mini trampoline to my favourite song and then danced around the house to the other tracks. Then while I was pulling the curtains, I felt my ham string twang - so exercise is good but pulling the curtains is badRENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

Hi Everyone :hello:
hope you're all having a good weekend.
I lost 1/2 on Tuesday (don't think i posted that - but sorry if i did)
Jen the wedding venue looks fab, hope you have an amazing day.
Suggs glad to hear you're on the mend.
MissMoneyPenny how are you finding no count? Is it easy to stick to? I'm counting points at the moment but i seem to have less and less enthusiam for it at the moment  time for a change maybe
Went for a walk this morning down Southport pier, nearly got blown off the end it was so windy, DD thought it was great :rotfl:
Got OH's family here at the moment. They are sat in my lounge watching telly. Had to send DD upstairs to watch the film she wanted to see cos OH said she couldn't watch it in the lounge as they were in there  am not doing a very good job of being sociable really but feels like my house is not my own
I know i shouldn't moan cos we don't see them that often, and they only came last night, and they are going tomorrow, and makes OH so happy to see them. Just feel like :wall: am going to stay in my kitchen on MSE all afternoon I think !!
Sorry, will stop ranting now!
