  • Had good/bad first day yesterday. Rushed off feet till 11.15pm.

Bad stuff included hospital visit with student daughter who was told she needs big ( But not life threatening or anything ) surgery. Op scheduled for March which is when we had booked to go to Florida, and recovery is about 3 months.

On a positive note- too stressed/busy to eat much.

Have more time to think today which is why i'm writing this instead of comforting myself with choccy!!

Must dig out hol insurance forms!

    Hi Consultant,

Thank you for that great explanation about Mix2Max. I'm going to print it off so when I need to remind myself-I've got it handy.

Thanks also for the recipe for the weetabix cake. :)

Brrrr, Its cold. We have run out of oil :( again I may add. We always seem to run out, neither of us are organised enough to remember to order it before we run out. A local place is going to deliver it shortly I hope.

I managed to avoid the cho in work, I looked them up and they are 2 syns each so the odd one or two arent that bad. I only had one 2day. Another girl in the office is trying to lose weight and so everytime either of us had the chocolate urge (which, when there is a large tin right in front of you is quite often!) we had a glass of water. Think I drank litres of the stuff in the 5 hours that I was there and that resulted in many trips to the loo :o I'm feeling very proud of myself though :A

OH is working late so need to keep up the good work and not nibble later. Have the remnants of some HM soup in the fridge, will have that now to warm me up! Going to make the rice pudding too.

Well, got the oil delivered but there is something wrong with the boiler so we are still without heat  I have lit the fire but its still quite cold. DH is on nights so he can't even get out to have a look at the boiler and FIL isnt able to come down.

I had some sweet potato and red pepper soup for dinner. I added some left over rice that was in the fridge and it really bulked it up - it was lovely too.

I also made rice pudding - I reduced the quantities because it was only for me - I used half a cup of rice, 1 cups boiling water and some sweetner. It went into the microwave for 5 mins then I added more water and put back in for approx another 3-4 mins. I then stirred in a toffee muller cos it was all I had and OMG it was gorgeous  Thanks to Jeni for starting the whole rice pudding saga! How are you coping without OH?

Hi Jeannie - sorry to hear about your daughter's need for surgery, I hope she's ok. Thank goodness for travel insurance!

Honey - apparently being cold burns more calories, so running out of oil might have a good end result! :)

Another breakfast idea you could try is muesli mixed up with natural yogurt, or muller light - if you do this the night before, the muesli soaks up moisture from the yogurt, and it makes the grains soft and fattens up the fruit - it's really filling.

Hi all - another newbie here. I've just sat and read through all 30 pages today! I only gave birth 3 weeks ago so I'm just watching what I eat at the moment, but I'll be joining SW as soon as I can. I only managed an average of 0.6lb loss a week but if I'm honest I ate too many syns and not nearly enough free food.
I have quite a bit to lose, but I'm breastfeeding which I hope will help, and I'm going to start walking as soon as I can, and then in the new year build that up to running. I know I need to exercise, dieting alone never seems to work for me.

Consultant - could you explain the Together membership to me? How much is it? How does it work?
